Akari had barely taken a step in the direction of her choice when the ground beneath her seemed to erupt, causing her to fall flat on her ass. Looking up she was terrified by what she saw. Before Akari was a Hippowdon, but it was larger than a normal Hippowdon and it's eyes seemed to be glowing red. Remembering a book she read in school once, Akari realized this must be an alpha variant. Alpha's were rare versions of pokemon that were larger and stronger than a normal pokemon.
Looking at this alpha Hippowdon Akari could tell from its coloration that this particular alpha was male, and that it was large enough to fit her halfway in its mouth. A disturbing thought when considering how his glowing red eyes were looking at her. Akari had seen a similar look in the eyes of her family's pokemon whenever they were about to enjoy a tasty treat.
