Making his way to the theater parlor, Seijuro found Claris lost in thought as she was writing the script for the theater's next play. Things seemed to be going well, but as Seijuro looked over her shoulder he noticed she seemed to currently be skipping over scenes involving the male love interest.
Letting out an exaggerated sigh, Claris looked to the ceiling and spoke out "It's hopeless. I don't have any inspiration for the male lead."
Wanting to help his friend and comrade, and also slightly because he wanted to stroke his own ego, Seijuro gave a suggestion "Maybe you can base him off of me? A romantic lead with my personality would be great!"
Claris' face began to turn pink as a peach as she began to scramble an excuse not to write her actual feelings for Seijuro down on paper. "N-n-no. That just wouldn't do at all! The lead needs to be more princely and and-"
Trying to move on from the awkward subject for Claris' sake, Seijuro thought about who else Claris could take inspiration from for the lead. The most obvious choice was Arthur, he was practically a real life prince. However...Seijuro felt some rivalry with Arthur so maybe having a lead in a play where every member of the Flower Division loves the character based on him wouldn't be a good idea.
Thinking about other men he knew, Seijuro gave out his next suggestion "How about basing the love interest on Reiji?"
Claris seemed to think about it for a few seconds before some air escaped her mouth, said air soon turned into a series of laughter. "Reiji? I don't think anyone would be able to buy him as a love interest."
Seijuro grumbled "Really? He's not THAT bad?"
Claris wiped a tear from her eye "I don't think I've seen another woman give him the time of day, let alone fall in love with him."
Seijuro could have let it pass if she only laughed at the idea once, but now he was tempted to defend Reiji's honor. "How about this, we follow Reiji around all day and we see if any women love him. In fact, let's make it a bet." Seijuro began to bite off more than he could chew.
"For every women we see that likes Reiji, you have to write extra scenes in the play about a mysterious and handsome knight called Seijuro saving the day." Seijuro gave his demands.
More than confident that no one loved Reiji, Claris stood up with a smile. "Deal, and when I win I'm sure you'll gladly volunteer to handwrite all copies of the script we need yourself." She said, glad to pass off the one boring part of her theater work to Seijuro.
With both sure they would win, they agreed to begin watching Reiji from the stairs of the theater lobby. As Seijuro followed Claris, he suddenly recieved a text on his kimeratron from Reiji
'Seijuro! After months of effort I have finally discovered the absolute best oil smell! The Mugen will practically be singing after the next adjustments!'
Seijuro paled, was Reiji actively trying to sabotage him?! Not wanting to lose his bet with Claris, Seijuro resigned himself to assist his friend in any way he possibly could.
Luckily for Seijuro, the perfect way to do so existed in the theater attic. Locked away by Sumire due to an apparent incident from years ago was a device made by the theater's old mechanic Kohran: Mr. Swapper. This device would be able to put Seijuro into the body of anyone on the planet.
While this device could be used for probably a million better purposes than this, Seijuro would now be using it to assist Reiji's love-life, give Claris the biggest shock of her life, and get a ton of scenes about him written into the new play.
Thinking up the perfect first woman to become, Seijuro decided that the first woman to 'fall head over heels' for Reiji would be... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
