Claris awoke that seemingly inconspicuous day anxious for what was to come. Sumire had announced she'd come to an agreement with the other combat revues that there would be a grand day of training where the members of the Flower Division would spar one on one with members of the other revues.
Most of the others were very excited about this prospect to prove themselves in combat and have a good friendly spar, after all they hadn't had to fight any demons in months so this was a good change of pace. But Claris was very happy about the lack of fighting. She could focus on her writing and slowly improved her acting too. And while she no longer feared using her own libromancy magic powers she still wasn't too keen on using those powers on another human even in a training exercise.
Claris was so worried about this whole sparing experience she was late to exercise which was taking place in the park. Claris sat next to Reiji who seemed to be browsing through some of magazines and books not paying attention to the combat. "Hey, I'm the only one who's supposed to be supervising this thing. Go out there and get to fighting." Reiji said taking only a moment to glance at the girl who sat buy him.
Claris looked around the park and sure enough it looked like everyone was already starting. Lancelot and Sakura were exchanging sword blows strike for strike. Seijuro and Yang were having a fight that looked as good as any ballet around with their smooth movements. Yui and Azami were jumping around dodging each other's projectiles, at least that's what Claris assumed was happening, the two were practically blurs on the battlefield. Anastasia and Elise were taking cover and making precise shots with their guns (filled with rubber bullets). And Hatsuho seemed to be having fun chatting Margarethe around with her mallet.
Claris realized then that the person should must be sparing with would be..."I hope you are ready, I look forward to dueling against a fighter with your unique skill set." The ever confident and regal looking Arthur said coming out of a bush hiding from his fans who thankfully seemed to have vacated the vicinity after the training started.
"Oh, um, I guess so." Claris said reaching for her usual black grimoire she always used to activate her wind like magic.
"Let us begin." Arthur said drawing his sword, but Claris barely opened her book before Arthur had sprinted up and with a swift motion knocked the book out of her hands. "Curious, you would be more carful with your weapon." Claris ran to try and grab the book but Arthur cut her off giving a warning slash of his sword.
"Disappointing. Are you truly left defenseless if you don't have that book? Disappointing, I was hoping for a unique challenge." Arthur said dismissively. Claris looked between her book and Arthur and knew there was no way she would be allowed to get to it, which mean she would have to improvise if she didn't want to just surrender, and with all her teammates fighting so fiercely around her she wasn't going to give up at the first inconvenience.
But improvising with libromancy would prove...problematic. All written word has some sort of magic to it in Claris' hands but what the power would be, she did not know. But needed to put up a fight she did the only thing she could and grabbed what Reiji was reading from his hands and quickly began to cast a spell not knowing what she grabbed or what the results would be.
