When Seijuro awoke, he found himself staring at Margarethe of the Berlin Division as she was sitting in a chair in front of him. "Ah! What are you doing here?!" He yelled as he pointed at her, worried he may have been dragged along to some sort of Berlin assignment against his will.
Strangely, Margarethe mimicked his every move and he had even heard her yell the same thing. Standing up, he tried to take a step forward toward Margarethe and the truth was revealed. This was a mirror, he wasn't looking at her. He was looking at himself.
"Good afternoon, captain Seijuro." The commanding voice of Elise called out behind him. Turning around, Seijuro saw he was in some sort of hotel room with Elise and Sumire. "I'm sure you have many questions, Sumire will give you a full briefing now."
"Now Seijuro, as I'm sure you know, Azami doesn't have any friends her age. Or any outside of the theater for that matter. I discussed this with Elise and it appears Margarethe has similar circumstances." Sumire began to explain.
"Yes, at first we planned to try and have the two of them become friends naturally, but we had heard that the last time they had meant things nearly escalated to them murdering each other." Elise gave a cough.
Seijuro recalled that moment vividly, Azami had made him catch a kunai to convince her not to kill Margarethe!
"As such, we need you to play the middleman. As Margarethe we need you to make friends with Azami and as Azami we need you to make friends with Margarethe." Sumire finished explaining the plan.
"Wait, won't they just go back to hating each other when I leave their bodies?" Seijuro pointed out the seemingly obvious hole in the plan.
"Fortunately no. I do not understand how he made it but Reiji Shiba's device defies logic. Not only are you in her body, but anything you say or do will change Margarethe's memories to think she said it herself. With the exception of anything you say about being in a different body." Elise went into more detail about Reiji's machine.
"Oooh really?" Upon hearing that, Seijuro turned to the mirror again. Looking in the mirror he gave a punch to her own face, leaving a light mark on Margarethe's cheek.
"What on earth was that for?!" Sumire nearly snapped, flabbergasted.
"One time I tried to say hello to her at the Cafe and she completely ignored me!" Seijuro said with smug satisfaction on his face as he finally had an innocent way to get revenge for that. "I, Margarethe, think Seijuro Kamiyama is the coolest captain ever!" He said in a cheery voice to the mirror, wondering how Margarethe's mind will even process that later.
"Captain Kamiyama. You may be in a child's body but try to behave like an adult!" Elise approached him and Seijuro felt a chill down his spine. Maybe saying that in front of Margarethe's actual captain was a dumb idea.
"Yes, of course!" Seijuro gave a salute "I promise that within two weeks time I will have made Azami and Margarethe friends with each other!"
"Very good, Seijuro. In Margarethe's luggage you will find several changes of clothes as well as personal items. You are free to use them as you like." Sumire stated before she and Elise left Seijuro alone to think up his mission.
"Okay, time to make friends with Azami. That shouldn't be too hard. Heck, I already did it once! I just need to do it again but as a young girl....that she tried to kill once." Seijuro made a mental note to be on the lookout for kunai.
As he was about to leave the room to hopefully meet Azami quickly, a thought occurred in Seijuro's mind. He knew exactly what Azami liked and how she was. While he couldn't exactly mirror her himself it wouldn't be too weird too as Margarethe. Maybe he could dress up in some 'ninja' clothes and meet with her like that?
Not wanting to take to long debating with himself, Seijuro chose to.... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
