After a few minutes, the one person that comes to mind the most prevalently is...
Your dad
Unfortunately, your dad is currently out of town, and you'll have to wait a couple days before you can test the machine. This makes you feel impatient, but you're pretty sure you can make it through... you think
You sit down on your bed and call Rufus, who comes padding in happily. He hops up onto the bed and sits down beside you, and you reach out and stroke his fur affectionately. You pull out your phone and browse through social media since you don't have much else to do right now. After about an hour, your mom comes home and asks you to feed Rufus and take him outside. You oblige, and he follows you back to your room where you sigh and decide to watch TV instead. You turn it on and flip through Netflix for a while before finding something good enough to pass the time. You lay down in bed with Rufus beside you, and pass the time slowly. Soon your older brother Luke comes home as well, likely from a friend's house as that's where he usually is if he stays out late. You greet him briefly as he walks by heading to his room, to which he greets you just as briefly. Not much is happening and you don't have much to say anyway
After about another half hour, you start to get fidgety. You really want to try out that machine, but you want to wait for your dad to try it on. You stare at the bookshelf with longing. You growl to yourself in frustration
