“Okay team, listen up,” you say from behind your desk in the small office. Three individuals, all in their mid to late twenties sit in front of you, listening attentively. “We’ve got a pretty slow day today, so I’m gonna want you all to get some training.”
In front of you sat your three employees, Amber, Terence and Freddy. They all seemed a bit irritated to hear that they needed to do extra training, but the job was dangerous and you know it’s for the best.
“Come on, do we really?” complained Amber. She was the rockstar of the three, your best employee. She was fearless and had been shrunk many times for extermination jobs. She was a great shot with the high caliber sniper rifles and could pick off insects from afar.
“Yeah, we do just fine,” Freddy chimed in. He had been here the longest of the three, nearly as long as you. He was a good worker and actually enjoyed being shrunken, but a few screwups earned him the nickname “bug”. The most infamous of these was last Halloween when he was half a centimeter tall. While working on a termite extermination he strayed too far from the group. A giant housewife mistook him for an insect and tried multiple times to crush him using a shoe. He needed to be rescued by the rest of the team.
“Hey bug, of all people you could use some help,” you replied, causing Amber to laugh and Freddy to just shake his head and smile.
While this was going on, Terence just sat there quietly. Who was the newest employee, and had only been shrunken twice so far. He was still getting used to the process and everything, but seemed to have potential.
“Look,” you say. “Just for today, take the van and go to one of your homes. The van has rifles and pistols, they’re loaded so you should be fine. Shrink yourselves down and just do some target practice or something.”
You nod for them to leave as the phone rings. “I’ve gotta take this,” you say, as the trio exits your office and closes the door.

“We’ll, who wants to volunteer?” Amber says. “Katie is home today, so I’d rather not do it at my place.”
“I still live at home,” responded Terence. “I don’t want my giant family interfering at this.”
Both turned their attention to Freddy and he let out a sigh. “Fine, we can do it at my place,” he said, before mumbling, “I’m not sure if my sister is home today.”
—
Pulling up to Freddy’s apartment building, the group chatted about their plan. It all depended on whether Samantha, Freddy’s sister and roommate, was home. Freddy called Samantha, and she said….
