"Oooh, a soda???" Pinkie asked, bouncing in her seat, "Can I help? Can I??? I know all about making soda!"
"Well..." Twilight hesitated. Pinkie was a little excitable, which wasn't great for a lab setting, but Pinkie also had the most knowledge when it came to making carbonated drinks. If she wanted to do this right, she would probably need her help.
"Alright. Thank you, Pinkie." Twilight smiled.

"Okay, so we need to sterilize everything." Twilight said as they set up shop in the kitchen.
"What are we gonna sterilize?" Pinkie asked, taking out an assortment of tools.
"The containers we're using, the measuring spoons and cups, the stir sticks, anything that might touch the ingredients or be used to mix them, and the bottles themselves." Twilight said.
"That's a lot!" Pinkie said, surprised
"It is, but it's necessary." Twilight explained, "Otherwise we risk contamination from other substances."
"Like what?" Pinkie asked, looking worriedly at the bottles stacked neatly in the sink.
"Look, I don't want to say." Twilight sighed, "But we've got to be careful, okay?"
"Okay!"
They made quick work of the sterilization, washing everything carefully and rinsing with hot water and soap, then drying it all thoroughly. When they were done, they went over to the counter, where the ingredients sat waiting.
"So what do we need to make soda?" Twilight asked, grabbing the first bottle off the stack.
"A bottle, a cap, sugar, water, flavoring, and...uh..." Pinkie looked around and spotted the last ingredient. "Lime, I guess?"
"You guess?" Twilight raised a brow, "I thought you knew what you were doing?"
