When the Nymberians were first discovered by the UNH, the species was divided into several clans that fought over the few star systems under their influence, and were known as the Nymberian Marauders. But recently, the clans have united for the first time in apparently centuries and reformed into the Nymberian Khanate.
Anastasia was one of the envoys sent to investigate the Nymberians' new diplomatic stance under united leadership. She was still on a civilian transport she on its way to the home of the new Khan, the Quuaraq Void Dwelling. She looked out to see her destination, which was a truly massive space station. It was so big, it could have been easily mistaken for the planet's moon. Said planet was a lush world green with life. However, according to Anastasia's research, she would likely never visit it.
Planets in Nymberian control are populated only by what are essentially peasants who spend their lives working the resources of the planet and send the fruits of their labor to the planet's void dwelling, which serve as the planets only connection to outer space. As a result, the void dwellings are the true target for any clan who wants to control a planet's resources. And the chiefs of all clans live on these dwellings and build them up both to make them more defendable against any attack, support larger fleets, and show off the chief's wealth and power, hence why void dwellings are so big. The planets meanwhile are often underdeveloped and their populations live similarly to peasants of Earth's medieval age.
And if a Void Dwelling is a symbol of a chief's power, Quuaraq must house the most powerful Nyberian in the galaxy, fitting for a person named their Khan.
