How about a world where male trainers are rare, so every male trainer is assigned a harem to support and protect them. So before the male trainer goes on their journey they're brought to a Pokegirl center. There the make trainer is given a list of girls they can pick from. The number of girls assigned is determined by test before hand.

They also can make both physical and mental changes and pick the girl's Pokemon team.
