"How're the kids?" Your neighbor, Mrs. Angela Axe asked you as you sipped on your tea.
"Good, good." You answered. "James has his powers now."
"Really?" Angela asked with a raised eyebrow. "Does he take after you, or-"
"A hopper like Nicky." You interrupted with a slight grin. "He needs some practice."
Shuddering, Angela shook her head. "No, Catherine."
"It's good practice against vore users."
"And just like with Nicky, you think I'm better practice than you." Angela groaned.
"It's better than relying on those shortcuts some parents let their children use." You said with an eyeroll. "How'd those even get approved anyway?"
"Speaking of, have you heard about that supplement for hoppers?" Angela asked. Seeing your confusion, she cleared her throat. "Hop-EZ. You've not been watching the news?"
"I haven't."
"Well, apparently its intended purpose is to help hoppers get a better handle on their abilities." Angela said before leaning across the kitchen table. "Apparently it lets non-hoppers hop too!" She whispered.
"What."
"I'll show you!" Angela said as she took her phone out and pulled a video up.
It was a man talking on and on about potential causes and such before finally he mentioned the juicy details. One pill for a vore user would give them hopper powers for an hour. Two pills for a normal person. Their powers would be identical to an average hopper, and the time could be extended with another pill, simple. As the video ended, Mrs. Axe cleared her throat.
"Crazy, right?" She asked.
"Crazy and bullshit, more like." You answered.
"Alright then." Angela sighed as she stood up. "Thanks for the tea Cath."
Waving goodbye, you couldn't help but let your mind wander. In the cupboard above the sink was a bottle of this "Hop-EZ" you bought the other day for James. It wouldn't hurt to try taking one of the pills, right? It probably was a load of bullshit anyway. At least, that's what you kept telling yourself as you opened the cupboard...
