To witness the swordsmanship of two beautiful (yet scary) women would be a treat to anyone who enjoys a good fight. But if the fight involves his precious childhood friend and the monstrously strong Divine Blade of Silver, Van would prefer if he doesn't see the whole area destroyed. It would be a good opportunity to see who was stronger in a one-on-one duel, but Van rather listens to his logical and rational side than see Elaine— er, one of them badly hurt.
The dark-haired Spriggan still couldn't believe how things turned out like this. One simple yet effective provocation from Shizuna was all it took for Elaine to get agitated. He couldn't blame the Sword Maiden though. If he were to name one thing that he long realized after they reconciled, it was their unspoken... feelings. He wasn't dense enough not to notice the shine in her eyes whenever they were together.
Of course, Shizuna had to involve him in her teasing slash taunt... which ended up provoking his childhood friend.
Now here they were, both swordswomen preparing to start. Van was panicking, albeit internally. There has to be a way to stop them from fighting! His mind was too preoccupied, he didn't notice the faint glow in his jacket pocket.
"Hehe, I hope you're prepared, Elaine~!"
Shizuna earned a nasty glare from the blonde as she draw back her cruciform sword. If looks could kill, Elaine would have won by technicality.
The silverette simply smirked at her hostility, amusement all too apparent in her expression. She didn't look like she was sorry at all! In fact, she looked like the type to do it again just to rile up Elaine!
"Now, now. A glare doesn't suit the elegant Sword Maiden at all. Van would disapprove of such a look." Oh, her glare only intensified...
"Don't put words in my mouth, dammit!" There was a part of him that wanted to agree, but he didn't want to have Elaine's glare redirected at him. "Come on, you two! How about you two settle this with a race again?!"
"No, she's gone too far this time. I can't let what she said slide." Both flared a fiery aura, forcing the Spriggan to back away.
Shizuna's smirk grew as she raised her ebony odachi, her expression showing as if it was all part of her plan so they could fight. Ohhhh, Van is going to grill her so hard for her bullshit. It wasn't the time for that though. He needed to think fast!
As a chilly breeze passed, the two swordswomen kicked off the ground as their blades draw near each other. Van also took off to stop them, forcefully if he had to. He had his trump card, and while he may not like it, he would don the nightmare if it meant stopping those two from fighting each other with the intent to... painfully hurt each other.
Running as fast as his legs could take him, the spare Genesis that Agnes gave him glowed a blue light until it enveloped the whole area. The flash was bright enough to force the combatants to cover their eyes, Van as well. The light did not just hinder their vision, but they all suddenly felt drowsy. The consciousness of the Spriggan slowly began to fade as if being pulled, everything was becoming a blur...
"W-What..."
