This choice: Come to a rest on his robes! • Go Back...Chapter #7A bug on Hur's robes by: Lastec ![Author Icon](https://images.Writing.Com/imgs/writing.com/writers/costumicons/ps-icon-regular-10.gif) You fall flat onto a white mountain, hiding many, many scales that protect the organs which allow Hur to sit here and find his inner dragon. Oh hell. Oh god, he's huge, Hur's never gonna see you here on his clothed belly! This is hopeless, that fairy has condemned you to death on a dragonkin! You slam your head in despair into the second-hand cloth, dirtied by many a prior user who saw fit to rid themselves of this landmass of a robe. Your tale will be the same as this ragged bit of equipment, cast off and never thought of again...
...But these worn-and-torn robes have found their home on Hur. What if you can do the same? Or... Or something similar? What if you can make him see you? You're thinking about this the wrong way. This isn't hopeless, it's another adventure for you to embark on, a quest for you to mark off of your expansive checklist of quests, a quest to get Hur's attention, a quest to regain your former height! This is no time to sit around feeling sorry for yourself, you've got some questing to do!
You crane your neck and look up at your destination, the long needle toothed jaw of this meditating member of your party. If you can climb up to there, onto the snout it lies below, right in front of Hur's eyes, then he might just see you as the friend of his that you are! Of course he's not gonna let you die, you still owe him another ale! He wouldn't forget about that! He wouldn't... couldn't possibly forget about you, he's not gonna see you as another bug to squish!
With newfound purpose, you push yourself upright and take your first angled step towards hiking up Hur's robes. You've barely taken five of these steps when a shimmering shadow is cast over you.
Long wings stretch out of the dark horizon, beating with a familiar sound.
The Fairy!
You spin around to-
*Thoomp!*
A long spindly set of legs touching down onto Hur's robes, but those aren't the legs of a fairy. It's just a butterfly. One little butterfly's wings span the width of an entire castle now! A small castle, thankfully, more of a keep than anything one born of royal lineage would dwell within, but a castle nonetheless! Compound eyes look you many times over, over a thousand dots of sight all contained within the orb that hovers just a measly hundred or so feet out of your reach. Antennae wave even further above this all-seeing insectoid eye, pointed towards the sun, yet you fully expect them to suddenly jerk down and smash you into a pulp!
"Oh god, stay away! Help! Help me, Hur!"
Your panicked words don't reach Hur, swallowed up by the dead air between you and the sunlit wings of this butterfly. You turn and run away, down the seemingly endless whiteness that is Hur's robes... ![](https://images.Writing.Com/imgs/writing.com/writers/info/interactive-1.png) indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
