"The elves truly care for the trees and the plants." You said, admiring the colorful plants. You were far from human lands and right on the border of the Rammer, and your nerves were on edge. While humans were permitted to explore the forests in and near Rammer, after many of them going missing or dead for just stepping on a branch or picking a beautiful flower, you were on edge about coming across a dryad's wrath.
Your name is Nolan Gausser. A thief and assassin hired out on behalf of the the king and queen to spy and learn what and who they have dealings with. Well, hired out is the nice way of putting it. Forced is more like it as it was either this or a rope around your neck. You knew that meeting was a setup right as soon as you noticed that man was a guard, but you were surround by the time you figured it out.
Relations with the Rammar and Cassier were friendly. From trades to sharing military tactics and political advise. They heads of the each kingdom visit each during the festivities and celebrations. So why would they need someone to spy on them if relations where good?
Well, the people closest to you need the the shortest knife to stab you in the back. While publicly showing support and respect, the royals didn't trust Rammar 100%. So they wanted someone to keep an eye on them and find out if they are hiding anything.
And that's how you got into this mess. On the threat of execution, sent to spy on Rammar. They gave you a potion that should make it easier to sneak into Rammar at least. Didn't leave you to figure it out yourself.
The walk through the forest was nerve wracking as you watch each step you take. The trees looked as if they were watching your every step and the vines hanged ominously from the branches. Even the plants with how they were facing looked on in anticipation. You're never coming here again when you job is done.
You finally, and thankfully, reached Rammer and the stories were true. It's a forest kingdom with wooden bridges connecting each tree to each other, houses built on the mountain side, and a sprawling city at the base. You hazard a guess that the queen must be big hollowed out tree where all the bridges connect.
You were having second thoughts about this and wanted to run, but there wasn't many places out there friendly towards humans. Enslaved by vampires Necropol, forced to fight to the death or sex slave in Dungon and Frett, and being a plaything for demons in Infaring. Traver offers some solace, but you'll be treated as second class for not being as smart as them, and you're likely to stab somebody for insulting you. And you don't trust anyone from Rammer after humans went missing or dead in their forests.
So with a deep sigh, you pull out the purple potion and down it. At first, nothing happened. But a few seconds and everything started get bigger around you. When it finally stopped, you measured yourself to be at least 4 inches. How and who comes up with this kind thinking is something you don't want to know, but you're wasting time. You had a job to do.
You move as quickly as you could to avoid being spotted or worst, crushed. Luckily, there wasn't too much foot traffic to watch out for. From the patch of grass you're hiding in, you peek out to a hoof land right in front of you. You crane your neck upward to see a centaur. Half horse, half human. From what you heard, they are friendly, but have some bad animalistic habits.
You couldn't get a good look at her as she moves along. You breathe out in relief and continue onward until you reach the base of the tree.
"Ok. The entrance has to be-" You were cut off as a hand wrapped around you and you were taken upward. When it open, you saw it was an.....
