It was a brisk summer afternoon, and Nate was planning to enjoy his summer break from college.
Between classes, and taking art commissions for so cash, he was thoroughly ready for some r and r.
Unfortunately, that r and r had to wait, as thanks to a scheduling mishap, his single mother had a work trip, the same weekend she promised his sister she could have a sleep over with her friends.
Thankfully, after a thorough amount of begging from Chloe, Nate agreed to chaperone the event. So, he'd have to keep track of three rambunctious kids for a bit.
"Be back soon, honey!" His mom said, as she drove off. Not to be back til the week was up. He gave her a wave as she drove out of sight.
Everything was taken care of, of course. Groceries bought, recipes for dinner on the fridge. But for the moment he was the head of household.
"Big brother!" Chloe called from the house, "I need you!"
