Her team went into town to visit a club last night and left her behind. Seriously, her ENTIRE team went. Obviously, Yang would have gone, but Weiss and Blake? Well, Blake was a given, as Yang would nag her until she complied, but Weiss? Why would Weiss go? Ruby’s partner was the kind of girl who would never go and party. Yang must have black mailed her or something. Her excuse kind of made sense.
Someone has to watch Yang or she’ll end up passed out in a street after burning down the building.
Blake was more than happy to have Weiss prevent that.
They didn’t return until like 3 am.
It was safe to say, Ruby was still upset.
“They can’t keep treating me like a kid all the time.” Ruby muttered. “So what if I’m socially awkward. I can’t change if I’m not given a chance to socialize. I would have gone to hang out with my team. It would have been a bonding activity!”
She kicked a rock off the path behind Beacon.
Jaune had hung out with her most of yesterday. The two of them played video games until around midnight when she left so his team could get some sleep. At least SHE was considerate. Yang came barreling in last night and made a lot of noise before vomiting in the toilet. Blake and Weiss controlled her a bit and then went to sleep without even checking on her.
Shoot, even JAUNE checked up on her the next day to see if her team arrived back and he only heard by association.
“At least my male best friend doesn't treat me like a kid.” Ruby scoffed. “Weiss could learn a lesson from him.”
BOOM!
Ruby jumped as something hit the ground about twenty feet away.
“Oh my god! What was that?” Instantly, the young girl rushed over to check it out. A small crater was in the ground with a smoking rock. “WOW! Is that a space rock! Coooool!” Ruby couldn’t resist checking it out as she reached down to pick it up.
The rock vanished the moment her hand touched it.
Ruby never got a chance to gasp as memories and information flooded into her. She now had the ability to turn people into skinsuits by poking the back of their necks. The power felt natural and filled her with purpose. She could even blow-up skinsuits into dolls so no one would notice they were gone. Weirdly, the part of her that would have said this was wrong seemed to be softly yelling in the back of her mind. Slowly being drowned out by all the fun she imagined having.
“I can’t wait to try this out!” Ruby smiled. “I won’t be a kid much longer.”
