Tim woke up with a jolt as he felt his body get rocked around. He vaguely remembered what happened to him before he passed out, but he hoped it was just a bad dream of his. Almost hesitantly, he took a look around.
“Ugh… so it wasn’t just a dream…”
Sure enough, his body was still trapped in the loop of a large gold earring. Just above him was the ear of the Gulliverian he was stuck to, his wife’s friend Gina. He was shocked she hadn’t managed to hear him with how close he was to her ear, but it wasn’t anything new for the life of a lilliputian.
“Hey mom, we’re home! Make sure you hold on tight!”
An enormous voice boomed out from the right of him. That must’ve been her daughter. He couldn’t see her past Gina’s body, but looking down let him know Gina (and by extension him) was on her shoulder. It was still tough to wrap his head around the immense scale of Selena, but he had bigger things to worry about right now. As Selena stepped out of the car, Gina’s earring began to sway a little bit. Although nothing to her, Tim’s body was rocked back and forth. He was lucky he was used to being moved by Gulliverians like his wife, or else he would’ve certainly gotten sick.
It was hard to tell with the constant swinging, but he got a glimpse of their home as Selena walked. It was absolutely gigantic in size, built to fit someone of Selena’s stature. He couldn’t begin to imagine how made her way around it. While taking in the sites, Tim noticed something else. His body was starting to get loose! The sweat caused from being this close to Gina’s body combined with the swinging motion let his body slip out of the metal loop more easily.
“Haha, finally!” He exclaimed, pulling his upper body out of the earring. Unfortunately, he quickly realized another issue. Him being stuck was what kept him on the earring, whereas now he was just holding onto it. On the off chance he lost his grip…
Tim gulped. He didn’t have too much faith in his grip strength, so he decided to go the only way he could. Up.
Although the metallic surface didn’t allow for the best grip, the earring at least had enough shape that he could pull himself up onto different parts of it. Grunting, Tim pulled himself towards the upper loop near her earlobe. From there, he just had to climb the loop and into her ear. Surely she would hear him then?
After some effort, he finally reached her ear. With one final jump, he leaped into her ear. His body was roughly the size of the opening so he couldn’t quite fit in it, but all he needed to do was get her attention.
“HELP!!” Tim yelled as loud as he could, something he might’ve wanted to reconsider with how close he was to her ear.
“Gah, what the heck is that?” Gina flinched, feeling an itch on her ear followed by what sounded like a tiny yell.
“Is something wrong mom?” Selena looked down at her mother, surprised by her sudden outburst. She had heard the noise too (albeit, a very tiny squeaking), but had passed it off as nothing.
“I think I'm fine… feels like there’s a bug in my ear or something…” Gina began raising her hand towards her ear, intent on dealing with the irritation.
“W-Wait wait wait! It’s me, Tim! Carol’s wife!” Tim began panicking, not wanting to get mistaken for a bug of all things when he was this close. Luckily, Gina managed to hear him a bit more clearly this time.
“Huh? Wait a minute…”
Gina’s open palm stopped just short of him, making Tim breathe a sigh of relief. His relief was short lived, as Gina’s index and thumb finger came around him and plucked him out of her ear. His body rapidly moved through the air, her fingers applying just enough pressure to not cause too much discomfort. He was blinded for a moment by the sunlight, until he stopped moving. Opening his eyes again, he was visited by the sight of an enormous eye staring at him.
“Oh wow, it really is you! Hehe, almost mistook you for a bug! What were you doing in my ear lil’ guy?”
Tim was a little disappointed at her taking it so lightly, but he had more important things to care about right now.
“When Selena pulled the earring out of your daughter’s eye, she, uh, forgot to check for anyone still attached to it…”
Gina chuckled. “Heh, she always has been a little forgetful!”
“Mom? Are you talking to someone on the phone?” Selena overheard her talking, but was a little confused at what she was saying.
“Oh, no. It turns out we had a third passenger with us! Remember that lilliputian from the lab?”
Selena cocked her head in confusion, before leaning in to get a better look at what her mom was holding. It was hard to see, but she could make out the faint outline of a tiny person on her finger.
“Omg, it is him! Did he get lost?” Selena still wasn’t used to dealing with real lilliputians, and ended up treating him more like you would a pet.
“Hehe, you could say that! But we should probably be getting him back to Carol. Lemme give her a call!”
Gina used her open hand to dial her friend, lifting the phone to her ear while Tim awkwardly dangled between her fingers.
“Hey Carol, I think you might’ve forgotten a certain someone before you left! Don’t worry, he’s all right! Here, I’ll let him talk.”
Gina moved the giant phone to Tim, to which he immediately heard the panicked (but relieved) voice of his wife.
“I’m so sorry Tim, I can’t believe I forgot to check for you!”
Tim sighed. Despite the situation, he didn’t want to upset her. She really was a good person, if not a little airheaded. “It’s fine, these sorts of things happen all the time. Gina has been mostly careful with me too!”
Carol was glad he was fine, but still couldn’t shake the twinge of guilt. “I’m a little busy with an appointment for the next 3 hours, but if you need me to, I'll drive over there and pick you up right now.”
Although Tim wasn’t very excited about the prospect of staying with Gina for much longer, he didn’t want to inconvenience his already panicked and tired wife. “It’s fine, I’ll stay with them for the night and then meet back up with you in the morning. Wouldn’t want you driving out here in the middle of the night after all would I?”
Carol was hesitant, but Tim had a point. Plus, she could trust her friend, right? “Is that alright with you Gina?”
Gina raised the phone back up to her ear. “Of course it is! After what you did for us today there’s no way I wouldn't repay the favor! Plus, it’ll be fun to get to know him a little more.” She smiled at Tim as she said the last part.
“Well, alright Gina. I’ve gotta go, but I'll get over here first thing in the morning, alright?”
“Sure thing. Bye Carol!”
And with that, Tim’s stay at Gina’s place began. Both the towering Blonde and her even more towering daughter smiled down at him. Surely everything would be fine, right?
