This choice: Lifeguards confiscate it • Go Back...Chapter #5Lifeguards confiscate it by: booger “Shoo! Shoo!”
A lifeguard in a red, one-piece bathing suit came rushing up towards the oversized seagull, waving a towel in the air. The seagull, too dumb to realize how big he was, took to the air to get away, leaving the crowded beach and heading off to cause trouble elsewhere.
The lifeguard that had cleared him off took a moment to let her heart slow down after such an intense moment, and then began walking back towards her lifeguard tower. She couldn’t believe that seagull had grown so huge. As she walked, she stubbed a toe on the green bottle of Jumbo Gro, half buried in the sand.
“Glass bottle? Seriously?” she said to herself as she picked it up. The name and the illustrations on the side showing a tiny plant and a huge one intrigued her, but she figured she’d take a closer look when she got back to the tower, so she held it tight and continued on her way.
Her name was Heidi and she’d been a lifeguard here at the beach for four years. She was 5’8”, lean and tan with blonde hair, bleached by the sun and a healthy set of C-cups. She took her job very seriously.
“What was that?” came a question from the guard tower.
Cece was her partner today. Cece was new to the job this summer, 5ft tall and 100lbs, but she was also a strong swimmer and an endurance runner. She didn’t quite take the job as seriously as Heidi did, preferring instead to use her binoculars to stare at guys.
“I don’t know,” Heidi said, sitting down next to her. “I think it might have something to do with that giant seagull.”
Cece, against policy, had been playing around on social media and had already seen videos of giant animals back in the city. She believed them 100% and went to snatch the bottle from Heidi.
“This is it! This is what made them huge! Oh man, I want to try it so bad.”
Heidi, a little alarmed at the outburst, took the bottle back. “We don’t know if it’s safe. Plus, how would you do your job if you got all big like that? It would be ridiculous.”
Cece, seeing an opportunity, decided to try and talk Heidi into joining her. “We’d be able to do our jobs even better. Could you imagine being able to reach the waterline in just a couple steps? Being able to see over everyone at the beach without even being in the tower? A bigger lifeguard could just go out and carry people to safety.”
Heidi pondered it. “Still, we should probably test it, right?”
“I’ll test it right now,” Cece said, grabbing the bottle back and tilting it back over her mouth. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
