The ride over to Grace's next class was, as she warned Jack, rough. There were a few different times where Jack was almost sent out of her sock and barreling down her leg, or also sucked down into her sock, but Jack remained strong and hung on. It was a relief for him when Grace arrived at her class and sat down at the last remaining spot at one of the seminar tables. Jack heard the massive bag of hers being dropped to the side of the leg he was hugging and looked up. It appeared Grace wasn't going to take Jack out of the sock, presumably to keep him out of sight of the other students. Jack thought this to be the closest thing to a break he's had all day. Being relatively low to the ground and with a great vantage point to get out of Grace's sock, Jack waited for the perfect moment to make his escape.
Unfortunately, this wouldn't come as soon as Jack would have liked. He had planned on immediately jumping out of the sock and sliding down Grace's leg, but though she wasn't looking at him, Grace made sure Jack was still in her sock by pretending she was looking for an itch and pressing him into her leg with her fingers. She did this frequently, only taking five, or even less than five, minutes in between checks. This frustrated Jack who knew he wouldn't be able to get far if he left the sock at this time. Thus, he stayed strapped against Grace for the next hour.
When Jack heard that the class would be wrapping up in ten minutes, he made a calculation. "If I've been here every time she's checked," Jack spoke to himself, "and there's only ten minutes left in class, there's a strong likelihood that she won't check for me again. If I get away now, I'll have enough time to at least find somewhere to hide, if not get out of here entirely." And so, taking a risk and betting on his gut, Jack slowly crawled out of Grace's sock and began making his descent down her leg. He went slowly and cautiously down, making every effort not to provoke a sensation out of the goth. Her demeanor was intimidating even when she was happy, Jack didn't want to know what it would be like if Grace was PO'd. Fortunately for him, his patience and caution paid off when he reached the top of Grace's boot without alerting her. He took one more look up and saw that she was still focused on class, then hopped off of her boot and onto the floor. From here, Jack had two options to choose from. Either he went under the table and hid behind one of the various students' bags, or he scurried out into the open and went for the door right away. This latter option was obviously more risky, but the door didn't seem that far away to Jack. If he made an all out sprint, he might just have enough time to get out for good without Grace seeing him.
