Thinking twice about shrinking down in a cramped movie theater, Jack restrains himself and watches the movie along with his friends.
Time passes, and the movie wraps up. The friends walk out of the movie theater and converse about their feelings about it. "You know," Jack began, "that wasn't bad, but it honestly could have been way better. Like, there were some pretty extensive boring moments in the movie. I feel like those were wasted opportunities to expand the character development of some of the secondary characters." Nora and Andrea looked at each other. "Look at the brain on this guy," Nora snorted. Jack rolled his eyes. "I'm just saying, there were some wasted opportunities that could have made the movie better, it's nothing." His friends laughed and gave him crap about his whole analysis on what could've been fixed on their way out to the car.
On the ride back home, there wasn't much conversation to be had between the trio. Each of them was tired and just wanted to head back to their respective dorms and crash out. And that's exactly what happened. When Nora pulled onto campus and parked, Jack split away from Andrea and Nora and went off to his dorm, excited to hop in bed and fall asleep. Though it wasn't the most physically exhausting day, something about it made him extremely tired. After hurrying back to his room, Jack threw off his shoes, changed into his pajamas, then crawled into bed and crashed within a few minutes.
The next morning, Jack's alarm woke him up to get ready for his classes. Yawning, Jack stretched and quickly hopped out of bed to make sure he didn't fall back asleep. He followed his morning routine, then twenty minutes later, Jack was ready to head out to his first class.
On the way there, there was a sign that stood out to him on the bulletin board located in the main square on campus. Knowing that there were opportunities to make money for volunteering, Jack checked it out. The sign read: "Volunteers wanted for size experiment. Preferably 18 and older and without any contingencies within the next week. Reward: $200" Jack pulled out his phone and took a picture of the flyer, then resumed his walk to class. Luckily, he captured a contact number that he missed reading, so he could reach out to the person responsible for holding this volunteer activity and ask for details. Walking into his first building, Jack was a bit more energized knowing he could make some good money participating in an activity that interested him.
When his first class concluded, he reached out to the number. They quickly responded, notifying Jack that if he was available that afternoon at 3:00, they were holding a private session for a volunteering individual, if he would like to reserve that spot. Jack had a class wrapping up at 2:50, so he would have to rush to the research building, but he gave the researcher the go ahead to mark him down for that time. And with that, Jack was set. What seemed like an easy $200 was on the horizon for him, and quite close.
When Jack arrives for his experiment, what does the person in charge want to test?
