Chapter #5A small problem by: Tisch About a quarter of the way through the movie, much of theater 7 was filled with movie watchers who seemed to be interested in the movie, but that excluded Nora and Andrea. "This is underwhelming," Andrea complained. "Agreed," Nora replied, "You want to bounce to another movie?". Andrea nodded but Jack shook his head. "You can't judge a movie a quarter of the way in, that's way too early to tell whether it'll be good," he explained. The girls didn't listen to him. "So then I'm guessing you're going to stay here. You want the popcorn basket then?" Nora asked. Jack shrugged his shoulders, but agreed to take it. The girls then left the theater for another movie, leaving Jack alone in his row. Jack set the box of popcorn on the ground, then kicked back.
Until about halfway through the movie, there wasn't much to ride home about. Jack sighed. Maybe he should have gone with Nora and Andrea to spot another movie, but it was too little, too late. That's when things changed. Suddenly, the movie went from one with slow, dull dialogue to one with in-your-face action and events. Jack leaned forward, now interested in the movie. "Well then, that's much better," he said to himself. At this point, Jack had completely forgot about the shrink ray in his back pocket. He was so immersed in the movie, he didn't realize that he was now putting enough pressure on it to activate it. And activate it did.
One moment, Jack was immersed in what was becoming a good movie to laying on his back on his formerly comfortable seat. He sat up, not understanding what had happened. When Jack surveyed his surroundings, he groaned. "Shoot, I forgot about the damn shrink ray," Jack complained. He took it out of his back pocket and noticed that the device was on a fifteen minute cool down. He groaned again. "I can't even see the screen from here- well, the part I can see is only like the heads of the characters. Dammit, this is dumb". Jack sat there for a few minutes, waiting for the cool down to wear out so he could return to normal size. That's when he heard a whisper come from somewhere behind him. "Laura, look. The guy that was in that seat must have left, we should move down". Jack's eyes widened. He turned around to see who could have said that, but he had no clue. He turned back to the screen, becoming more paranoid by the second.
And Jack was right to be paranoid because not more than a half a minute after those words were spoken, two middle-aged women were heading his way from the entrance to the row. Jack panicked. He looked to his left and right, trying to find a way to get away from here, but he hadn't any luck. The arm rests on either side of his seat were too slick to climb, and Jack couldn't get down from the chair because there was no way to climb down and a jump from this height would likely result in critical injuries, even with the extra endurance. Jack's time was running thin as the women were nearly to his seat. The next thing Jack knew, he saw the extraordinarily large butt of the black woman, accentuated by her white tights. With doom approaching, Jack had very little options.
