Vanessa's Were Cow Conundrum

Okay, let's get started. How does Vanessa end up part cow.

Scenario 1: One of the few things Vanessa and Doof shares is a complete hatred of Grass. As his daughter's hatred of Grass is even more vicious than his own, and both Vanessa and the cow are female, and thus their minds are more comparable, Doof convices Vanessa to use the machine instead of himself, unwittingly cursing her to the were-cow curse instead of him.

Scenario 2: While Doof still goes through the process, transforming himself into a were-cow, but afterwards, before he removes the cow from the machine, Vanessa comes across the machine, and; wondering what it did, puts the helmet on and accidentally activates it, forcing her to share her father's curse.
