Jack peaked out of Troy's bedroom window to the backyard below where Ethan was mowing the lawn shirtless. He watched as sweat glistened off his chest and abs, giving the young man's tanned skin a sheen. Jack admired Ethan's biceps as they pushed the lawnmower through the tall grass. And he gasped a bit when Ethan's shorts slipped down his hips an inch.
Jack's heart was racing at the sight of his incredibly buff and handsome crush, a crush he had for years. He always wanted to ask Ethan out but was too afraid he wasn't into boys. Jack snapped out of his daydreaming. He blushed knowing he was caught staring at Ethan…again. “Y-yeah, I'm here…”
Troy rolled his eyes. “Are you gonna ask Ethan out or not, man? He's been single for three weeks now. Wait too long and he'll be with another guy again.”
“I…I know,” Jack said, shifting his chair away from Troy's bedroom window. “But, you know, what if he says no?”
“What if he says yes?”
“But what if he says no?”
Troy rolled his eyes again. “Great. And when Ethan is in another relationship, I'll again have to hear you whine for another three months about not taking your chance.”
“...but what if he says no?”
Troy dragged his chair over to Jack and placed a hand on his friend's knee. “Jack, listen. You're not a bad looking dude, girls think your hair is great, you're skinny…well, really skinny…so I think you have a chance with Ethan! Shoot your shot!”
Jack sighed and brushed a lock of blonde hair behind his left ear. “O-okay. I'll ask him out, but…”
