"Dad why do I have to come to this thing? It's not like I even had anything to do with it!"

"It's important that you get comfortable with appearing in public at events like this, son. You'll be doing a lot more of them in the future".

"Yeah but that won't be for at least ten years!"

"Ooh, sooner than that, boy! Hah! Much sooner..."

The Marquess of Everton relaxed in his limousine. He was a wealthy, successful jewel merchant, who upheld his family's business of fine jewelry and goldsmithing work, producing only the most beautiful of pieces. He opened the folio on his lap and glanced at the sheet of paper inside it, which had the family coat of arms on it, and the royal crest and "By Appointment..." across the top.

He chuckled. "You'll enjoy it!" he said, smiling. "Besides, it's for an excellent cause! Besides, you don't have to DO anything, just be there and smile for the cameras!"

"Yes father".

The Marquess smiled and kept ruffling through his papers, as the limousine pulled up outside a grand, country estate just outside London.

"Here we are..."

They climbed out and stared out across Everton Grange, the family estate.

"Now go on, upstairs with you! Gotta be ready for tonight!"

"Yes papa!"

Lord Colin Charles Clavering was ten years old, second son of the Marquess of Everton, Richard Clavering, who ran Clavering & Sons - Fine Jewelers, in London.

The slim, pale, blonde boy hurried upstairs.

"Colin! You're late!" said a woman's voice.

"Sorry mother! Papa insisted in collecting me from school!"

"Oh! That MAN!...Well hurry up!"

"Yes mother!"

Colin jogged upstairs and ran along the corridor to his bedroom. He burst into the room, threw his bag onto his bed and started stripping down.

"Where is my..." Colin mumbled, rifling through his wardrobe.

"Lookin' for this?"

"AAAAH!!"

Colin jumped and spun around!

Leaning against the wall under a large, family portrait, was a tall, slightly older boy, with tanned skin and thick, golden blonde hair.

He held a tuxedo, dangling from a hanger on his finger.

"Y-your Majesty!" Colin stammered.

Flavius smirked and swaggered forwards.

He held out the tuxedo, and bowed.

"M'lord", he teased. "Cutting it a bit fine, aren't you?" said Flavius.

He turned to a mirror nearby to check out his crisp, white and gold outfit.

"W-what are you doin' here!?"

"Hey, how else do you think that hospital...got all the money..."

Flavius adjusted his sleeves.

"...to open so early? Not just your father's millions, y'know..."

"I guess!" said Colin, stripping down and getting dressed.

"How do I look?" he asked, doing up his shirt and trying to put on his bowtie.

"Good..." said Flavius, adjusting Colin's shirt. "Nice".

"So where is this thing anyway?" said Colin.

"Didn't your father tell you?"

"I didn't think I'd actually be going! I thought my brother would be! How will you get there?"

"I'll find a way", said Flavius, smirking.
