"I'm hungry!" said Ryan. "C'mon! Let's find something to eat..."
"Yeah good idea", said Eric, "Flavius are you..."
Before Eric could finish speaking the whole building shook as several gigantic blasts rocked the whole shopping-mall from top to bottom! People screamed as glass exploded everywhere, tiles shattered and the balconies and walkways up above came crashing down! The lights flickered and buzzed and flames shot up everywhere!
"What the HELL!?" said Ryan, "Let's get out of here!"
Eric turned and spotted Taurus and his friends rushing for the exit, with their security-details following behind them. Alarm-bells started ringing and lights flashed!
"Flavius c'mon we gotta go!" Eric said.
"Flavius?"
He turned around. Flavius was gone!
No he wasn't! He was there - a few yards ahead, walking towards the middle of the carnage! Wind was blasting down through the shattered skylights, making his golden hair flicker and his cloak flap back and forth behind him.
"Dude we have to go!" said Ryan.
"But Flavius..." Eric began. He watched as moved through the wreckage, calmly, not panicking, just...looking around.
The two boys groaned, and then turned back and hurried inside. People were rushing out of the building and helping others to their feet. A little boy lay on the floor, his eyes staring up at the ceiling.
Eric let out a strangled squeal and ran forwards, tripping and stumbling over the ceiling-panels and broken downlights and everything else!
"Mom! Dad!"
"Darling!" said Eric's mother, "What happened!? We brought Timmy here to see...I can't find..."
"Ma'am you have to get out of here!" said a mall security-guard, "Sir! This way! Kids! C'mon!"
But Eric and Ryan ran the other way, after Flavius as the security guard ushered Eric's parents out. Then Eric stumbled, and screamed! Ryan stopped and turned around.
"No! No no no no!!"
Eric was kneeling on the ground. He was holding something in his arms.
"FLAVIUS!" he shouted, "Flavius where the hell are you!?"
Ryan ran over. That was when he noticed the tiny figure of Eric's little brother Timothy lying on the ground, a nasty gash across his head, a shattered fluorescent light nearby.
Flavius came sauntering up.
"Sup bruh?" he said. He'd been wandering around, casually reviving and helping people up, pointing the way to the exits while the police cordoned off the area.
"Timmy! He came here with my parents and ran off with the...whatever those things were...started! I think he got hit!"
Flavius chuckled.
"Yeah? Let's have a look..."
Ryan and Eric stumbled back as Flavius knelt down. They watched as Flavius stroked the boy gently, sweeping away the blood, scarring, dust and grime, all with casual waves of his hands. He touched the boy on his head, face and neck, and then reached into a pocket and pulled out a shimmering golden flask.
He opened it and carefully tipped a SINGLE drop of the flask's shimmering, sparkling contents, into the boy's mouth.
"Ah-hurgh!"
"Timmy!"
"Momma!?"
"Timmy, it's me!" said Eric, "C'mon, let's get out of here!"
Flavius got to his feet, put the flask back into his pocket and followed them outside.
