Chapter #7

Property of Chase

(Young male pred. Mindbreak. Chapter subject to change)

Two giant boys loom high over you, Pokeballs at the ready. A child with a pokeball: an image that almost anyone in Kanto is familiar with, one instantly symbolic of youth, the optimism and ambition that come with it, and the rites of passage young ones face. Adults may train Pokemon as well, but the role Pokemon play in the upbringing of children is fundamental to Kanto's culture.

What would ordinarily be a sight that would give you a happy, fuzzy feeling has become something altogether different now that you're in the crosshairs of those red and white glorified nets. They're adorable young boys ready to make their first capture, yes, but from your perspective their hunters ready to ensnare you and sentence you to a life of chattel servitude. They may be kids, but before them you might as well be a mouse cornered by a Meowth.

You briefly consider your options, for you truly don't have a lot of time to think. The boys could end your freedom, or perhaps your life, with just a flick of their wrist. Just one well-aimed shot with those Poke Balls and you can be sure that a capture will follow. You could run away, sure, but they'll likely be able to nail you anyway. Instead, you decide to surprise them by doing what they probably least expect: you run straight towards them, aiming to pass between them and make it under that door . It's a longshot, but you don't exactly have any good options now.

You bolt forward, rushing right for the gap between the two boys, paying heed to their imposing sneakers. "Uh..woh! It's running right for us! W..watch out Chase!" The boys instinctively step back, looking at you with surprise. Does this little tiny have some sort of trick up its sleeve? As you near the door into the lab, you hear the THUDs of the boys smashing their sneakered feet against the ground and turning around. You're so close to the door. "Uh...I guess he's trying to fit under the door..." Chase says, his head tilted at the little person's strategy. You arrive at the door and struggle to crawl under its frame, only to find that you can barely even fit your arms under it! Both boys break into laughter as you keep on trying to force your way under the door

"PFFT ahahaha~ look at it. The little tiny's just mashing at the door!" "Nice strategy lil dude...". Both boys continue to laugh at your efforts, leaving you feeling silly and more than a little demoralized over your choice of strategy. You abandon trying to crawl under the door, get to your feet, and turn just in time to see Chase lob the ball straight at you.

WHOOOOSH

POP
Beep beep beep....jiggle...jiggle...jiggle...SNAP. ALL RIGHT! The tiny was caught!

Chase stomps forward and picks the Pokeball up into his clutches, holding it up in front of his face with a warm smile. He's barely even stepped out of the lab and he's made his first capture! Chase feels the slightest twinge of a power-high just thinking about the fact that the creature he has in his clutches is basically a smaller version of human grown-up...only tinies are different. He can do whatever he wants with his new pet. Actually, 'plaything' might be a more accurate title for it.

As he's smiling at the Pokeball, Trace speaks up. "Haha. Nice first catch." He gently jabs his elbow against his friend's. "Don't think the others are gonna be that easy, kay?" Chase nods. "Well. Obviously Pokemon are gonna be harder to catch than tinies." No, I mean, I think most tinies aren't gonna be that crazy and run into a dead-end like that." "yeah....guess you're right. Well, you ready to head on?" "Yeah! Got so many adventure ahead of us!"

===============
An explosion of sound. A sudden an overwhelming force. A blinding explosion of sky blue engulfs your being, and then everything fades to white. When you wake up, you find yourself in a near formless void. Are you dead? No...your body is definitely there. This can't be death. The logical alternative is that you're inside of a Pokeball. You need to get out! But....you don't even no where to begin. What even is out in a place like this? As you contemplate your surroundings, you find yourself envisioning Chase's face....you can't see him, but you cannot shake the image from his mind. And looking at the boy's face, you are flooded with a surge of thoughts. You must not hate him. You must obey him. You must fear him. You must respect him. You must like him. He is both a master to be respected and an adorable young boy to be supported in any way you can. You quickly fall into a stupor as the Pokeball's digitally encoded protocols work you into a mentally subservient pet. You might not be dead, but you won't be resisting your master anymore. You might have free will, but you'll be too obedient to ever exercise it...

As the intrusive thoughts begin to dissipate, you find yourself falling and falling until you land in a pile of...socks?
You find yourself lying among a large pile of socks, feeling tired. At least you're not in a formless void but...if Pokeballs are supposed to produce an ideal environment for the Pokemon within, is this really the environment for you?

YOU'VE BEEN CAUGHT!
