It had been quite some time since you had properly hung out with Jess. Of course she was your neighbor so you could easily hang with her whenever, but you two had drifted apart over time and you didn't spend as much time with her as you used to. Thinking about it for a moment you decide that it might be time to fully rekindle your friendship, even if it hadn't even died yet. Your friends might be miffed you didn't sit with them but you can see them later, for now you with gonna sit with Jess.
"Hey Jess." You say as you take a seat at the table with her and her friends. At first she responded with an odd look as you sat down but then immediately brightened up when she realized you were staying.
"Hey! How have you been?" She says to you brightly. It was nice talking to her again. She always made you smile, even when you were kids, and that has not changed even in highschool.
"Not much, figured I'd see how you were doing this week." You say with a shrug as you reach for a hamburger.
"I'm doing good." She says before realizing she had been shafting her friends as she talked to you.
"Oh, I don't think you've met my friends but this is Rebecca, Tanya, Elizabeth, Grant, and Sophia." She says indicating them as she went.
Rebecca looked to be about your age, which was weird because you knew she was in Jess' grade, was a bit portly but had long dark hair and deep green eyes. Tanya was small and skinny and had a "cute" face, she had short blond hair and brown eyes, she happened to be the only one at the table who you did know other than Jess, but you did not know her well. Elizabeth was tall, even sitting she looked it, with redish-brown hair and hazel eyes and a noticeable rack (which you did your best not to stare at) she definitely stood out the most. Grant gave off a "hippie" vibe, locks of hair tied into several braids, tie-dyed t-shirt, and a gaze that led you to believe he might be high or just have that look about him. Lastly Sophia who gave off a class president vibe. she looked to be about your height and weight but her dark black hair and blue eyes stared at you with a cold calculative nature that made you think she was studying you.
"Nice to meet you all!" You say as you look around at the group.
Lunch comes and goes and it was back to class, but before you left someone pulled you aside.
