Chapter #5

With Hana who was sitting alone.

    by: t Author IconMail Icon
You were in an odd mood today. Normally it would not be much of a question of where to sit, you would sit with his friends obviously. Katie and Josh have saved a seat for you like usual after all. But perhaps it was because you was feeling adventurous that you decided to look in the direction of the foreign exchange student Hana. She was sitting on her own, at her own table reading a book while she ate her meal.

You had never really paid her too much mind before so he was unaware, but it seemed to you like she didn't have any friends. So you decided that you would change that. Who knows you two might hit it off really well!

With that in mind you walked with your tray in hand over to the lone Hana and sat down next to her at the table. However even after you sat down several seconds pass without her noticing. In an attempt to grab her attention you cleared your throat, but still nothing.
Whatever it was she was reading she seemed to be really engrossed in it. You could just pick up and leave but you decided on this course of action and you were gonna see it to the end. If she asked you to leave you would but at least you wanted to give this a shot. So in order to get her attention you did the next best thing. You poked her side.

"EEP!" She yelled out in surprise, much cuter than you thought she would. She finally looked up from her book and looked over to you who was almost as surprised as she is.

"Oh sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." You apologizes quickly.

"It is alright." She says with a slight pause, placing her hand over her side. "You just caught me off guard. I'm very ticklish so I react strongly to things like that." She looked sheepishly off to the side as she spoke.

"Oh its no bother." You said as you began to look off to the side yourself. "I actually thought your reaction was pretty cute." You admitted surprising even yourself.

Hana did not know what to say to this and you felt weird for saying this at all so there was just a long pause between both of you.

"What are you reading?" You say trying your best to change the subject.

"Oh, I'm reading Sherlock Holmes. I've read it in Japanese but the translation does not quite capture the gallantry of Holmes as well as the original author did." She says much more excited now.

"Oh?" You say back now much more engaged.

Lunch went by quickly as the two of you chatted about the book for a while before branching off into other topics. Eventually though the bell rang and it was time again for class. However even as the two of you parted ways you could not get out of your head the cute way Hana reacted when he poked her.

"Ticklish huh?" You say with a sly smile as you left the lunchroom and headed to class.

You have the following choices:

1. Meet up with Hana after school.

2. Meet up with Katie after school

3. Jess calls out to you as you leave school.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
