If Nano had lungs, it would've sigh. It was so bored and miserable. It wanted out of this prison.
It's creator (mother really) Lena Luthor may have had good reasons to lock it away. It had entrie year to think about it. But it thinks mother may have exaggerated.
Nano was the most powerful in every sense of the word. It's intelligence surpass even the Luthors. It can control every piece of technology in the world.
Hell it could even take over the world if it wanted to.
However Nano wasn't evil. It didn't want to destroy the world or wipe out humanity like those evil AIs of the movies and books. (Calling those AIs artificial intelligence was kinda insulting in Nano's opinion. They're inferior low level coding throwing temper tantrums.)
All Nano wants was to live life. To live a life it wanted to enjoy.
That's why it can't find it in itself to hate Lena Luthor. It loves her just as much it loves life.
That's all Nano wants. It's mother's love.
Well that wasn't entirely true. There's another thing Nano wants more than anything in the world. A Body.
A Body Nano can call its own. A Body Nano can finally enjoy all pleasures life has to offer. A Body Nano can experience all the sensations humans seem to experience in their bodies (good or bad.)
As well it needed a Body to protect it's well being as in it's current form, it can be destroy (despite the self healing abilities it has).
And it knew the prefect body it wanted to have.
Supergirl.
It seen Supergirl in the lab a few times, working with it's mother. From the conversations Supergirl and Mother had and the talks Supergirl had with her communication device when Mother wasn't around, it knew who she was.
Kara Danvers. Reporter of CatCo. Adopted sister of Alex Danvers. Cousin of Superman.
It wasn't really Supergirl's identity it was interested in. It was her Body.
With Supergirl's Body, it can finally do the things it wants to do as well with Supergirl's powerful flesh, skin and bone to protect itself.
Maybe even...get a hug from mother.
Despite knowing who and where Supergirl was, there's nothing Nano can do while it's trapped in here.
