Shawna Pillay was possibly the last person one expected to have fantastic adventures.
Not that she wasn't a noteworthy person. First of all, she bore an uncanny resemblance to actress Disha Patani (save Shawna's hair reached to the small of her back, and her bra size was two cup sizes larger than Disha's). But even those people who weren't familiar with the rising stars in Bollywood found Shawna a dusky beauty worthy of a second glance, and even a third and fourth.
Shawna was the descendant of a couple that had migrated from south India to the United States right before the second World War. The extended Pillay family now owned and operated a chain of high end men's clothing stores found throughout Texas and the south-central United States.
Shawna was a senior in a Texas state college, where she planned to graduate in few months. Her plans after graduation included becoming a kindergarten teacher, marrying the man her parents had selected for her, and starting her own family.
If Shawna's plans sounded conservative, it was because she was a conservative young woman from a conservative family. There was no secret rebellious side of Shawna waiting to get out. She did not envy the lives of her girlfriends who dated and other things. Shawna was perfectly content not to date or attend wild parties or the other things more liberal young women did at college (or conservative young women who planned to leave their wild lifestyles once they left college).
But not everyone was happy with Shawna's conservative college lifestyle. One person in particular wanted Shawna to be wild, at least around him.
Which was why, when Shauna came home one day to her modest studio apartment just off campus, she found a package waiting at her door. The package contained a device called the Ultimate Universal Remote, which promised to revolutionize the way Shawna experienced watching television.
