You are the child of a Bajoran refugee family, a family that fled the Kardassian occupation of your home world. When you turn eighteen, you decide to apply to Starfleet Academy. Your desire to serve in Starfleet is twofold. First, you want to do something for the Federation, which has done so much for your family. But you hope you also might somehow be involved in the liberation of Bajor, the home world you left as an infant.
