Chapter #5

Rose

I am Jen Grant, thirteen year old weapons specialist. No, I was not trained by my parents to be some super soldier. It is just that when I pick up a weapon, any weapon, it instantly becomes a living and breathing part of me. Over time, I became a crack shot; I never missed a target regardless of the weapon of choice. My parents are wealthy weapon developers so there have been a few kidnap attempts to use me for ransom. All of these would be criminals learned the hard way just how bad of an idea it was.

To be certain, I do have weaknesses. Experience is not really on my side, nor is strength or endurance. Despite that, I do have an ace up my sleeve; my twin brother, Jon. He is literally a living weapon. He can become any weapon I desire and change parts of his body to be weapons if he should have to fight on his own. We are inseparable, we go no where without the other... except the bathroom, of course...

Although mom and dad had a point, we could not just stand still while others were being kidnapped to who knows where, forced to do who knows what. Mom and dad built their business to protect the innocent from people like that. So, when we heard of the Problem Child Gang, we decided to help from behind the scenes...

I sighed, turning to Jon who rewarded me with a quick smile. "There was purchase of modern handguns from an anonymous buyer today." Softly, I said.

Jon nodded. "There have been a string of strange robberies in the city as of late." Quietly, he replied. "It doesn't take a genius to put two and two together."

"Where do you think the next hit will be?" Worried, I asked.

Jon shrugged. "Your guess is as good as mine; we'll just have to listen to to police radio and hope to catch something among the chatter."

We did not have long to wait as we heard reports of a robbery at...
