The town of Suburbia was prone to all sorts of strange happenings, but the latest was about to affect the town in a much more direct way. To begin, the latest and most direct example was going to have one of a few origins.
Magical/Mystical Origins: The event is something magical or mystical in origin. Some examples would be someone discovering a spellbook, discovering an item or items that have magical or mystical properties, someone summoning something like a succubus, demon, etc., astral projection, and similar things.
Technological Origins: The event is something technological in origin. Some examples would be a TV remote that can bend reality itself, a machine that body swaps people, a machine that changes people's bodies, a costume gun, and similar things.
Extraterrestrial Origins: The event is related to something not of this world. Some examples would be an alien crash landing in town and giving someone a power or device, an alien or aliens coming to earth and hijacking bodies, for things like a "vacation" or perhaps to make a "thorough investigation" of how human's bodies worked. Those are just some of the ideas, and there is literally a universe full of ideas.
Biological Origins: The event is something a human or humans suddenly developing and/or discovering a unique ability. Some examples would be someone becoming a Body Hopper, either with possession or swapping powers, someone gaining the ability to merge/fuse/absorb others, someone being able to turn into a ghostly form and possess others, being able to turn into slime/liquid, someone becomes able to shapeshift, and similar ideas.
Other Origins: The event is something else in origin.
