This choice: Andromeda, at the quiet library • Go Back... Arriving at the library, Andromeda ruffled through her bag for a moment as she fished out her notepad. She’d made written down the books she wanted to scour to help with her dissertation. Her paper focused on the comparisons between modern and pre-existing methods of environmental engineering. While the Internet provided plenty of up to date thesis on the former, the later was still bound to the pages of books in her recommended reads. Sure, it was going to be tedious, but it needed to be done.
Presenting her library card and student ID to the librarian at the desk, she got to work finding the books she needed on the shelves. While her friends would have scoffed at the idea of a stuffy old library, Andromeda didn’t mind the solitude. It allowed her the time not only to focus without the distraction of a busy apartment, but also allowed her to be alone with her thoughts.
She’d never been a massive socialite compared to her friends anyway. Sure, she’d had a good upbringing, growing up in a middle class household in a small town in West Sussex. She’d had a reasonable friendship group at school, though many had drifted apart as they entered higher education. She’d learned more about the world in 6th form, taking on the more Liberal viewpoint evident in many students her age.
People had made her cynical though, through the breakdown of friendships, bad attitudes and failed relationships. It had meant she’d flirted with anxiety, but her independent studying had ironically helped her to understand and manage that better through logic. She hadn’t had much courtship with boys, particularly when her body had developed as such to where a few smooth talkers just looked at her like a piece of meat than a girlfriend.
She didn’t give up entirely on the hope of finding someone here. Her parents had met at university after all. But she wanted to be with someone who liked her for more than just the novelty of her body.
As such, she’d preferred to keep focused on her studies, to forge her own path and to make her parents proud. She wasn’t into drink or partying, so spent her leisure time indulging in her nerdier passions – video games, fantasy novels and TV shows. She tried to introduce her flatmates to them, with varying degrees of success, but even if she couldn’t quite sway them to her interests, she valued the bond they all had. She had been an only child growing up, so it was a new experience to her having four ‘sisters’.
In tandem with her recommendations though, they’d still try and coax her out to meet people. She’d indulged them on a few occasions, but certainly still preferred her quiet, reserved existence. Their little hints and tips still played on her mind at times. They’d often flicker back into thought as she studied. Was it her or other people who needed to change? For now though, she put them to the back of her mind, settling into a quiet corner of the library as she scoured her books.
Her concentration was momentarily broken by the sudden flicker of the fluorescent light above her. She shrugged it off as she turned back to her studies. A new feeling crept over her though. She couldn’t put her finger on it... but she felt like she was being watched. She looked back up at the light again, but it'd returned to normal. Scanning her surroundings, there wasn’t another student in sight. But the feeling remained. She pulled her collar up her neck as she tried to drown out the anxious feeling with study.
Even her most deep seeded logic or wildest thoughts couldn’t comprehend what was about to happen though.
As she looked through the latest paragraph for the information she needed, she suddenly felt it – a sharp, cold sensation pushing into her back. It was like something was psychically forcing itself inside her. She gasped and shot to attention, as the icy feeling began to fill her up, until it was eventually buzzing through every nerve of her body.
She felt control of her motor functions fading as the alien presence made its way into her brain. On the outside, her body shuddered as it tried to fight it off. It was to little avail though. Her vision faded as whatever was inside her began to figuratively switch off every little light bulb of her consciousness. She lost all thought as her eyes clouded over with a white mist.
When it finally began to clear, her convulsions stopped as she took in a sharp intake of air through her lungs. While Andromeda remained in body though, something else now controlled her mind. Her thoughts were now completely different, totally overwriting the quiet young girl previously present.
It was something far more wicked and unhinged.

A lecherous grin spread across Carl’s new face as he examined his chassis.
“Been a while since I’ve been in a student bitch” he swore with her voice, sounding gruffer and out of turn for the girl’s who body he occupied. She wouldn’t have been his usual choice at a glance, but she was first dibs in the building closest to where he’d stashed away his own body. As her fondled though, he quickly discovered what she’d been hiding under the surface.
“Shit babe, you’ve got some big knockers!” He exclaimed as he took a firm squeeze of his huge tits.
“A thick little number like you should show herself off more”.
He glanced down the collar of her hoodie to better check them out. The sensation of seeing a great rack from such an angle didn’t lose it’s novelty for him. He reveled in exploiting the fairer sex for his amusement, as he used his other hand to feel up his meaty thighs and rub between her legs.
“Oh yeah, I could have some fun in this little cutie” he chuckled to himself.
“Let’s find out what I’m working with first though. Or rather who...”
Closing his eyes, he began to probe her memories for the basics – her name, where she lived and who she knew. Her face remained focused for a moment as Carl pulled through her memories like classified files. Eventually, he blinked back into focus.
“What kind of fucking stuck up weirdos name their kid Andromeda?” he scoffed.
“Still, nice to know she’s an unsuspecting little trojan horse while I’m here. And she’s got some hot roommates to fuck with too if I want”.
He licked his lips at the thought of shooting up Jess, Michelle and Tali with his clones. The more Carl’s in the world, the better. Especially when they were occupying hot young bitches.
The campus was his oyster though, and he didn’t need to limit himself to strictly her circle if he wanted. There were hundreds of students, lecturers and faculty members here, all waiting to unknowingly help him or have some fun.
He’d also need to check on his own body at some stage. Whilst he knew the powers he had could get him out of a few sticky situations, he didn’t want anyone stumbling across his true self without his say so. Plus, he’d left a pack of his favourite cigarettes on his person, something he could take with him in his non-corporeal form.
One thing he certainly wasn’t doing was studying though, leaving Andromeda’s notes and books at the desk as he vacated her quiet corner of the library to cause some mischief.
But what would he decide to do first?
