Tyler and Avery constantly told their younger sister Chloe that she needed more friends her size, annoyed that the young redhead always seemed to be waiting around the corner to embarrass them when they had friends over.
Finally, Chloe heard it enough. She wasn't just going to make friends her size. She was going to make them much, much smaller than her, using her mother's credit card to order a shrinking device that would make anyone she desired smaller than her.
-2 days later-
A package arrived at the James/Jennings household, and Chloe quickly responded to the doorbell, running outside to retrieve it. Happy that her newest toy had finally arrived, two days was an eternity to an 8-year-old girl.
She took the package and ran up to her room, carrying the box under her arm so nobody would see. She closed the door behind her, ripping off the packaging and pulling out the shrinking device. It looked more like a toy than anything, but so long as it worked, she would be satisfied.
Chloe picked up a big piece of paper under the device and began reading the instructions, unable to understand some of the longer words. She couldn't focus long enough to read everything, so Chloe skimmed through about 99% of everything written on the paper.
"So basically, I pull this trigger, and whatever this is pointing at will shrink. That seems simple enough." Chloe summarized, glossing over a few important notes, such as *DO NOT USE ON HUMANS* as shrunken people would be defenseless and fragile. She also glanced over the fact that the device could only shrink things, so anything struck with the device would remain tiny forever.
Chloe hid the device behind her back, going out into the house to hunt down her siblings, planning to shrink the first one unlucky enough to cross her path. Unfortunately, Tyler drew the short straw there as Chloe ran down the stairs to catch her older brother walking out of the kitchen.
"Oh, hey Chloe. How's the weather down there?" He joked, walking past Chloe on his way to the front door.
Chloe smirked. She didn't have any master strategy for shrinking Tyler. Her plan was as simple as turning and shooting him in the back while his guard was down, firing a bolt of purple light from the device, shrinking Tyler to the size of a bug on their living room floor, instantly.
"I don't know! How is the weather down there?" Chloe teased, her now booming voice nearly deafening Tyler as she looked down at how tiny he was compared to her, unable to contain her laughter.
Tyler quickly spun around to face Chloe, never expecting in a million years that his little sister, who barely came up to his waist a moment ago, could tower over him like a beanstalk. Her brown calf-tall boots shook the ground itself as she took a few steps to retrieve Tyler.
The tiny teenager didn't know how to react. He needed a calm and collective third party to explain to Chloe why shrinking someone without their permission was wrong, making a break for Avery's room upstairs without a second thought. However, Chloe effortlessly intercepted his path, stomping her boot-clad foot down inches away from his face.
"Where do you think you're going?" She asked, her voice resonating with authority as if she was the one in charge. Of course, she was. Her newfound size advantage over her elder brother had ensured that after she almost casually crushed him underfoot.
"Chloe, you have to stop this! You could have crushed me like a bug. You're insane!" Tyler yelled, still not understanding there was a new hierarchy among the three siblings, with him on the bottom.
"So? If you don't want to get crushed, don't run under my boot." Chloe smiled, sassily responding with an argument only a child could come up with as she bent her knees to pick up Tyler, wrapping her fist around his little body. She carried the shrunken boy up to her face, unraveling her fingers as she brought him under her gazing brown eyes.
"You and Avery are always telling me I need friends my size, and now I have one smaller than me for a change." She announced, baffled by how Chloe had taken their words so literally out of context.
"Chloe, that's not what we meant! You can't just go around shrinking people like this!" Tyler yelled, not used to talking to the young redhead's billboard-sized face.
"Well, I guess I can, since your so itty bitty." She smiled, effectively ending the conversation as she decided it was time for their first game. "Now lets play a game I call________." Chloe announced excitedly.
1. Meteor> Chloe drops Tyler on the couch and tells him his only objective is to dodge falling meteors, turning around and proclaiming that her giant butt is the meteor he'll be trying to evade.
2. Candy Rush> Chloe carries Tyler into the kitchen, pulling out a bag of gummy bears from one of her many secret hiding places, and dropping him inside of the bag, challenging him to be the last Gummy Bear standing as she eats all the rest.
3. Step-Sister> Chloe releases Tyler into Avery's room, and he has to convince her in only 5 minutes that he's not a bug, or Chloe will shrink her too, but how will Tyler fair when Avery attempts to squish him flat under her bare feet.
4. Prank War> Chloe sneaks into Avery's room, and tapes Tyler down inside one of her bra cups, leaving him helplessly trapped when Avery returns to get dressed for the day. How will she react if she finds him? Will she believe his story, or will she assume Chloe helped him and prank her back?
