It was a dark and stormy night in Gotham, a normal occurrence that the Dark Knight had grown used to while living there. In fact, the reason he was out now was the same reason he went out most nights. Someone was committing a crime in Gotham, a heist, to be more precise. Thankfully it wasn’t one of his usual rogues, just a couple of low lives looking to make easy money. Normally he’d forward this kind of information to the police, but this lot planned to break into Star Labs. Batman had interrogated the criminal didn’t know what they were stealing, only when they planned on committing the heist.
It didn’t take long for him to find where in the building they were, the experimental weapons section, and Batman took their lookout down first. The other criminals had no idea that Gotham’s protector was there as they opened a container and pulled out a raygun.
“Is this seriously what we’ve been looking for?” One of the thugs asked as he looked over their prize. “It looks like a toy.”
“Yeah, but we’re still getting paid good money to get this for the boss,” the head thug responds. “So, quit your complaining and get to wo-SHIT!”
Batman had taken down the thug the leader had been talking to and moved to apprehend the final criminal. Thinking quickly, the man pulled out the experimental weapon, aiming it at Batman as he pulled the trigger. The only thing that happened is Batman knocking the criminal unconscious. With the criminals dealt with, the Gothamite hero called the police, making sure everyone was bound by the time he left. With nothing else going on, the Batmobile pulled into the Batcave, and Batman passed Alfred as he pulled off his cowl.
“Another eventful evening, Master Bruce?” Alfred asked Bruce Wayne.
“Thankfully, it was just a heist that I dealt with, nothing major.”
“Well, if you need me, don’t be afraid to ask.”
Bruce gave the butler a nod before he left to change. The moment he began to take off his uniform, a strange feeling washed over him.
