Disease defeated

Your name is Mike. You are a 16 year old boy with an Eight year old brother Tommy.

You two have always had a great relationship but Tommy has been diagnosed with a rare lethal disease. You were devastated until you found out he can be saved by an experimental drug that could have side effects of “growth”. Your parents decided to have Tommy take the drug despite the vague risk and agreed to keep it secret

You have been at home mostly alone for a week while your parents were with Tommy at the hospital. You have been ecstatic since you heard the news from your parents via phone that Tommy seems to be cured and can come home. You though remain a bit nervous at the side effect of “growth”. You really care for Tommy and hope he will be okay. You are just watching tv eating lunch when you hear a noise at the front door. It opens with Your Mom, Dad, and Tommy coming in, with Tommy in your Mom’s arms.

“Tommy is still regaining his strength back and needs to take it easy. As it is summer break with Me and your Mother having to work hard after missing a week, We hope you can keep an eye on your Brother. We will really appreciate it Mike”, Your father says to you as your Mother lays Tommy on the couch.

“Of course Dad. Anything for you and Tommy”, you gracefully respond.

Your Mom and Dad then head out the door to work late and you are left with your little brother laying on the couch. You decide to...
