A new day rises for Sonic and the rest of the Freedom Fighters. Robotropolis has been destroyed and Robotnik has been presumably been "defeated". They are finally free to reclaim the ruins and rebuild Mobotropolis, or so they thought!
Yet did they know Robotnik's lacky Snively has rised to power and from the rubble of Robotroplis... and he's not alone! He has returned with Naugus, allowing him to escape from The Void to bring terror to the Freedom Fighters!
Sonic, Sally and the rest of the Freedom Fighters are surronded at a large table disscussing their plans to rebuild Mobotroplis from the now destroyed ruins of Robotropolis.
Sally: Ok team, the day has finally come! With Robotnik presumably defeated, we can finally start rebuilding Mobotropolis! But before we do, the area must be scouted for any threats that may has survived it's desctruction. Me and Sonic will lead the way, followed by Bunnie, Rotor and Antione. Antione: No thanks! I'd much rather stay here! Bunnie: Come on Antione! What are ya scared of? I'm sure we got rid of must of them. Tails: What about me Sal? Can I come too? Sally: I'm Sorry Tails you can't- Sonic: Come on Sal! He's proven himself enough times already! I've been training him for quite a while, he can be quite the fighter! Sally: Oh alright fine, but you better make sure he's safe. Sonic: No prob Sal! Sally: Alright then it's settled. Let's head off and start scouting.
Sonic, Sally and the rest of the Freedom Fighters enter the ruins of Robotroplis. Piles of scrap metal and rubbles of destroyed buildings is all that visibly remains.
Sonic: Man... this place is more of a dump than it usually is! We sure left quite a mess. Sally: Not as much as Robotnik's, his mess was much worse. Now we can finally start cleaning it up. Rotor: I'll make sure to put these scrap parts to good use! Antione: A-a-and are you sure this is s-s-safe? Sonic: Relax Ant! O'l Buttnik's gone... or maybe his ghost is coming to haunt us and is RIGHT BEHIND YOU! Antione: WAAAH! Sonic: *laughs* I'm kiddin Ant! Sally: Hmmm, I'm detecting a strange signal... I'm not sure what it is. Bunnie: What is it Sally girl? Sally: I don't know, it appears to be... behind us? Antione: N-n-na na- na na- n-n-n-! Sonic: Chill Ant, there's no ghost. Sally: That's no ghost Sonic! That's- Sonic: Naugus?! Naugus: Surprise! Hahahahahahahaha!
Naugus: Sorry to spoil the party, am I late? Sonic: But how?! How are you here! I thought you were trapped in the void?! Naugus: I was... but thanks to some help from a certain little bald guy with a big nose, I am able to stand here in front of you right now. Sally: That must be Snively! Bunnie: He's still alive? Sonic: And if he is, then maybe that could be the same for Robotnik! But let's deal with Mr lobster claw here first. Naugus: That'd be Naugus to you! And now that I've finally escaped I'm going to have some fun! Hahahaha! Sonic: Well game over Naugus!
*Sonic leaps towards him, but Naugus reacts quickly and temporarily freezes him in place* Naugus: You're quick to talk! But the game has only just begun! Now... what should I do?
*Naugus thinks for a moment. What magic will he use against the Freedom Fighters?*
