How about she becomes a gluttonous hedonist once she becomes queen of Atlantis? I'm sure all those royal banquets have given her a taste for fattening excess...

There's 2 versions of this; one where she gradually descends into decadence over time and is oblivious to her weight gain and one where she fully intends to get fat and hedonistic from the start, so take whichever path you like!
