“I was wondering if you could tell me more about what exactly it is that your mom had done to tinies in the past?”
As you asked this you saw a brief look of confusion flash across Quinn’s face.
“Why do you want to know that? I wouldn’t think you’d want to hear about the horrible things she does to people like you,” the look of confusion only lasted a second, going back to her usual neutral expression fairly quickly.
“Well, I guess it just seems like you’re not the kind of person who would talk about this kind of stuff normally. I think it would be good for you to get it out,” what you said to Quinn was true, but since this was Quinn’s mom, you also wanted to get information so you knew what to avoid if she ever came over while you were here. “It’s not good to keep this sort of stuff to yourself, it would maybe be good for you to talk about it.”
Quinn’s cheeks blushed slightly and she showed a faint smile before quietly uttering a soft “thanks”.
She shifted uncomfortably, seeming reluctant to talk about it.
“Quinn, we don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to. If I overstepped we can talk about something-“ you were cut off again as Quinn’s nervous talking interrupted you again.
“No I’m good, it’s fine... I’m just trying to think of where to start.”
She sat there for a few moments, trying to figure out where to start. Suddenly she seemed to think of something.
“Ok so... as I said I had a lot of tiny friends growing up. My mom was usually very discreet in how she got rid of them, most of the time I suspected she had done something to them but there was never any evidence,” she sighed, obviously thinking about all the friends she had lost. “Until one time that I had two friends over, they were brothers, twins. Their names were Jack and Henry. This was when I was around fourteen. We were in my room, just chatting, when I suddenly needed to use the bathroom. On the way out I noticed my mom standing in the hall, in hindsight she was probably eavesdropping on us. I don’t know why, but I noticed at the time that she was standing barefoot.”
“So I go and use the bathroom, I’m only in there for five minutes at most. When I come out my mom was waiting outside. She said that Jack and Harry’s parents had showed up and they had left. I had thought it was strange but I just shrugged and took her word for it. Just as I walked past I happened to glance down and see that she was wearing a pair of tan socks. I had thought it was strange but didn’t realise what had actually happened till after I walked into my room and sat down.” She paused, clearly collecting herself. You put your hand on her thumb reassuringly once again, which got another small smile from her.
“So I rushed downstairs to confront her about it... but once I got downstairs I saw her pulling on some running shoes over my friends. I actually saw one of their faces on the sole of her foot! I was in so much shock I couldn’t say anything. She turned to look at me and got this huge smile on her face, she said something along the lines of “oh my sweet little angel, you look more beautiful every day” before hugging me,” she almost seemed to gag at the thought of her mother’s shower of affection. “I couldn’t bring myself to confront her, she was being so doting and loving, I couldn’t start a fight with her about it. She was one of the few people I was really close to at that time, I didn’t want to risk that. So I didn’t do anything, and she went off on a run, she must have ditched them somewhere because I never saw her wearing them again, and I didn’t see them ever again. They could still be out somewhere because I was too afraid to ruin my relationship with my mom, as well as all the other tiny guys she’s gotten rid of over the years.”
A single tear rolled its way down Quinn’s pale cheek, and there was a faint wetness in her eyes. She obviously felt incredibly guilty about it. Still holding your hands on her thumb, you looked up to your giantess roommate.
“Quinn, none of that was your fault. Your mom made those choices, it’s perfectly understandable to not want to jeopardise your relationship with her since it’s obvious you two were really close. Please don’t blame yourself,” she hung her head low even as you said this. “Just give me a warning whenever she comes over so I can find a good hiding place.”
You thought ending with a lighthearted joke would be best to cheer her up, and you did get a faint chuckle out of her.
“Thanks Hunter.”
She looked down at you with a slightly more serious face.
“I’ll give you warning before she comes over if she ever does, I haven’t told her where I live yet but I imagine she’ll find out eventually. So I’ll give you a few tips on her behaviour around tiny guys. She will act innocent and sweet when me or any other people her size are around. She usually crushes tinies on purpose but will pass it off as an accident. I’d also guess that she’d try to hide you on herself somewhere the instant she’s alone, because whenever a friend disappeared it was usually after I’d left them alone. I also don’t have any evidence for this but I’m sure she probably used Shipping Hero to get rid of some of them, but I can’t say for sure. So if she ever comes here I’ll make sure either me, Morgan or Avery will be with you at all times,” she didn’t smile down at you, but you could tell from her eyes that she was trying to reassure you. “Normally I’d be inclined to let you fend for yourself, but I’ve lost too many friends to her to let that happen.”
“Thanks Quinn, and for my part I’ll try to keep a low profile when she’s around,” you smile up to her.
“Yeah that’s probably best.”
What happens next?
1) You and Quinn continue to talk.
2) Morgan and Avery want to do something as a group.
3) There’s a knock at the door, Becky has tracked Quinn down and come to visit.
