My name is Matthew Sheppard. I’m a 22-year-old man who recently graduated from college. By recently, I meant almost a year ago. I have been living with my parents while applying for literally every job for which I am even slightly qualified.

I was about to give up when I was offered an interview with Bridge Financial Group, a well-known financial firm in Seattle. The interview was for a job in the mailroom, but it was a good start. Or so I thought...

What I thought was a job in the mail room was actually a job as a receptionist for one of the company's executives. So now I'm the Assistant Vice President of Marketing's secretary.

I'm also a woman now, so there’s that too.
