He looked at the plate and groaned. He didn't really love pancakes and wanted french toast but didn't complain. He grabbed the pink sippy cup and drank some of the milk. He had gotten used to drinking out of sippy cups- it was one of the many babyish things that he still dealt with at his house. Even though he was the second oldest, he had always been treated younger- not sure if it had anything to do with the diapers and his illness.
He never really argued with it though. He didn't always drink out of a sippy cup but when he was about 8, he spilled his cup on the carpet multiple times one week- so his mom made a rule that all cups either had to stay in the kitchen or have a top. So it just became easier for all of the kids to drink out of them. Kayla used them all the way until her Junior year, when the family had to move because mom had lost her job. They downsized to an apartment that was mostly wood floors, so she convinced mom that her and Kylie didn't have to since their room had no carpet. Kady and Kyra's on the other hand was carpeted, so while Kyra was young enough to still use one anyway, Kady still did to have the option to bring it in their room.
The three girls were drastically different.
Kayla was the superstar- good grades, did sports (dance, cheer, gymnastics, track, soccer), got accepted into a really good college on a track scholarship but could have just as easily done it by her grades. She had a ton of friends and for an older sister, did a really good job with her younger siblings. She was the fashionista of them, saying that one day she would like to create her own clothing line in Paris.
Kylie was the rebel. She was nothing like the other three. She was in sports until Kayla got into high school, because that is when mom stopped making her. She quit dance, cheer, and gymnastics the moment she could. She played one extra year of soccer but quit after that. She was not a total girly girl and had more of a bland style. She definitely had middle child syndrome. She wanted nothing to do with her family.
Kyra was the princess. She got spoiled. She was also in sports but again because mom made them all do it, since she wouldn't have to pay for a babysitter while she took the others to practices and games. She was obsessed with Disney Princesses and still wears a tiara on almost a daily basis. If she is at home, even at 10 years old, you will find her in some sort of Princess dress playing dress-up. She is constantly begging Kylie (and Kayla when she is home) to play with her, needing more attention.
