Alan thought long and hard about if he really wanted to do this, he loved his daughter more than everything else in the world and wished they could be always together, but what if she didn't like it, or worse, what if the potion had some sort of side effect that hurt her?
He studied carefully the instructions of the perfume bottle, looked online for the ingredients and for any kind of issues the potion could cause, but he didn't find much. It seems this was a new company and beyond the ads he saw there wasn't a lot of information about it.
Ironically he felt some relief with the results of his research. What this told him was that he most likely got carried away by his dreams of having a tiny daughter and he bought some useless scam product. Looking again at the bottle he didn't notice anything weird with the liquid so he figured out he could just use it and excuse himself with Becca if her breakfast juice tasted any weird. The more he looked at it the more he convinced himself it was just water with some silly red colorant added, so when preparing breakfast he just took a spoon of the liquid and mixed it with Becca's orange juice.
As he woke up Becca and received in her hug one of the highlights of his days, he couldn't help but hope the potion delivered its promise, but the rational part of his brain was working towards making him forget about that wasted money.
Becca had her pancakes and orange juice for breakfast and thanked her dad as she went back to her room to prepare for school. Alan noticed she didn't feel anything weird on her juice but if it was indeed just water it kind of make sense.
Alan shook his head and went on to wash the dishes and keep the house clean, until he noticed Becca was taking too much time and could miss the bus. He went to her room with a mix of fear and excitement to ask if everything was ok, and after a couple of unanswered knocks he decided to open the door
