Katy slipped her hands into the pockets of her newly acquired uniform and walked with confidence down the corridor, knowing she looked the part. A nurse smiled and said "Hi, Dr Bennett" and Katy replied with a "Hello". She loved the respect this uniform gave her. Somewhere behind her she heard "Maria, Maria!" being called out but it was not till the third repetition that she remembered that that was the name on her borrowed name badge, she swallowed and turned round. A middle aged man in scrubs came walking up to her looking confused, "I thought you went home hours ago?"
"Umm, no I was just catching up on paperwork"
The man nodded, "Impressive, well you're done for the day, go home!"
Katy nodded, "Thank you, sir!"
The man frowned at the "sir" and Katy guessed she had gotten it wrong but he didn't say anything until Katy carried on walking away from him,
"Uh Maria, the locker room is there". He pointed to a door just a few feet away with "Lockers" helpfully written on it.
"Oh, umm, yes, very tired sorry", she muttered.
Katy walked through the door as quickly as she could and through another marked "Female Lockers" and into a long low ceilinged room, with metal lockers along the walls, wooden benches in the middle and a shower room at the far end. Thankfully there was no one else present so she had no one watching as she searched up and down the row of lockers till she found one marked "M. Bennett". She pulled the key from her pocket and tried it in the door. It opened to reveal -
