It had already been 4 months since her parents finalized the divorce. Although she was already 18 years old she still didn't know how to cope with her family breaking apart. She saw her dad everyday or at least every other day when the divorce initially happened. Now, Josie would be lucky to see her father once a week. In addition to her fathers absence her mother had become more irritable and emotionally distant from her and her sister. All this change was too much for Josie. Around a month ago she had started wetting the bed. She managed to hide her accidents from her family most of the time, and other times she was not as sneaky as she would have liked to have been. In total Josie had been caught with a wet bed 6 times in the last month. Luckily no one had noticed the other couple dozen times, but 6 seemed to be enough to get on her mothers bad side. Her room was beginning to smell of stale urine, her mattress was on its way out along with her box frame, and all those loads of laundry were starting to take there toll on the washer. The night before Josies mother had warned her that if she wets the bed one more time they would have a serious talk.
*Josie stirred in her sleep before waking up to an all to familiar feeling. She checks her phone. It was 8 am. She then reaches down to feel her athletic shorts to confirm what she already knew to be the case.*
"Fuck my life..."
*She springs out of bed knowing that her mother would be coming in to make sure she was up any minute. There wasn't much time to change her sheets but she figured she could cover her blanket over her sheets and change before her mother came in. The feeling of panic and shame set in as time race against her. She dashed to her drawer before sliding down her shorts and.... before she could do anything else her bedroom door swung open.
