Vex stepped through the door into the brightly colored candy store. A small bell rand above the door as it opened. The store was much larger then Vex had thought, it must have bought out some of the adjoining stores. Inside there were many shelves filled with candy, sweets and other such delicacies.
Walking further in Vex saw woman with brunette hair behind the counter at the back of the store. The employee after noticing Vex stood up and greeted her, "Welcome to Wonders! We hope you have wonderful day. Just give holler if you need help."
The employee looked to be reading the greeting from a card. After she was done she sat back down and pulled out her phone, no longer paying full attention to Vex.
Vex adjusted her leather jacket as she looked back out through the store's wide windows. She wanted to make sure no-one she knew would spot her in this shop, which looked like it had been thrown up in by unicorn. Vex stood out here like a sore thumb, with her almost completely dark clothing.
"The hell is this place? What kinda weirdo would choose this color scheme? Like it hurts to fucking look at." Vex though to herself as she walked along the wide aisles.
She looked down at some candy bars next to her. None of them were brands she could recognize and all of them seemed to have the red and white logo of the store.
"Double Bubble Trouble? Twisteroo? Nutty Caramel Queen Bar? What are these suppose to be? Are these like some ripoff products?" Vex wondered.
The little she had paid attention to what people she knew had said about the store, the products were supposed to taste amazing. But looking at the, what felt like fake, products made Vex doubt the validity of these claims.
"I guess I could try one of these." Vex picked up a handful of the "Nutty Caramel Queen Bars", as she had an affinity for similar sweets. "But, I'm definitely not paying for something from this shithole."
Vex shoved the bars into the pockets of her jacket and started carefully walking towards the door. Having previous experience with shoplifting she knew she had to act casual but too casual. And as currently there seemed to be only one employee present, the had just opened, Vex felt confident she could easily slip away. Then she could taste if these candy bars really were the real deal. After that she might head to school, but that might end her impressive streak of shoving up hours late.
Vex approached the door and looked back over her shoulder. The employee at counter was nowhere in sight.
"These idiots probably wont even notice a thing. And if it's so easy to steal from here, who knows, I might have another visit here. That is if these bars don't taste like shit." Vex thought as she made her, not really so daring, escape.
