Gwen seemed agitated as she heard her cousin once again play his video games, even as teens he didn't kick all of his bad habits, at least he isn't as much of a pain like he was when they were kids, but Ben still has his faults. Gwen decided to put a stop to this noise as she got up from her desk and went towards the offender, who's happily wasting his life with that nonsense.
"Hey, knock it off!" Gwen hissed at Ben, Ben rolled his eyes and kept playing, causing the redhead to abruptly turn his game off.
"Hey!" Ben protested.
"Hey yourself, have some common decency for people trying to study for exams, you know the ones YOU need to study for?!" Gwen argued.
"Eh I'll be fine." Ben shrugs off, "besides we have a week, plenty of time."
"A week turns into a day." Gwen grumbled.
"Who are you my mom?!" Ben groaned.
"Ugh, fine you want to flunk out of class by all means, but stop putting the music so loud!" Gwen practically hissed.
"There's no point if there's no music, and you ruined the mood." Ben grumbled as he got up to stretch.
"Sure blame me for your laziness." Gwen rolled her eyes, as she saw Ben walk off, "HEY!"
"What didn't you say you wanted to study?" Ben asked as he went to the kitchen to get a snack.
"I'm not done talking." Gwen insisted.
"Yes, you are." Ben replied, "I have better things to do then listen to you nag."
"Watch it dweeb." Gwen brought out her old insult for him back when they were kids.
"I don't know why you're still pestering me." Ben sighed as he got a piece of cake and went to get a knife to cut it.
"Because I'm trying to get your lazy ass to work, this is why Julie broke up." Gwen stopped as she saw Ben flinch, she softened up, "sorry."
"Forget it." Ben grumbled, he hated being reminded they are no longer an item because of him and playing his video games, but he still plays them anyways, he just has a habit of tuning things out, he continued searching for a knife.
"I'm your cousin Ben, it's my job to care." Gwen said.
"I know." Ben nodded as he still couldn't find a knife, "I just don't like being reminded of my shortcomings."
"They don't need to be, if you put effort in." Gwen said, "I could help." Ben gave a soft smile.
"Maybe that won't be so bad." Ben smirked as Gwen smiled back, she'd never get through to him back when they were kids, thankfully Ben got a bit wiser over the years.
Ben still searching for a knife found something else instead, a pocket watch, he curiously pulled it out as Gwen looked at it.
"What is this doing here?" Ben asked looking at it, Gwen went to have a look.
"No idea, it looks familiar." Gwen hummed, Ben looked at it too, a standard pocket watch.
"Yeah, your right." Ben hummed as well, where did they see this before, he looked at it curiously with Gwen watching, he checked the back, "no inscriptions." Ben hummed again as he tried fiddling around with it, accidently pressing the button in the process. As he pressed the button, hypnotic waves released from the watch, Gwen got bombarded by each wave and felt herself losing focus, the last thought she had was finally remembering what this watch is before succumbing to its hypnotic abilities. Ben gave up as he put the watch away.
"Ugh no use." Ben sighed as he turned to his cousin who is standing there with her head down and eyes closed.
"Er, Gwen?" Ben asked waving his hand in front of her to no reaction, "Gwen can you hear me?"
"Yes." Gwen's voice is soft and monotone, Ben is slightly alarmed wondering what happened, "Gwen this isn't funny." Gwen didn't respond to that. Ben touched her face to no reaction and even tickled her, still no response.
"What on earth?" Ben asked as he checked the watch again, Gwen was fine a second ago so why is......wait.
"Hold on, now I remember this watch." Ben exclaimed, this is Sublimino's watch, they fought him a few times in the past, the memories of when he was younger in his mind where he got hypnotized to do his bidding, Gwen herself got hypnotized, then he recalled wanting to try it himself only to be duped by her, Gwen wouldn't pull the same stunt a second time, especially now that she considers herself more mature.
"Is she, no way." Ben said seeing Gwen, "Gwen look at me." Gwen lifted her head and opened her eyes, her pupils were small and she was standing there at attention.
"She is." Ben hummed, "Gwen you will obey everything I say correct?"
"Yes, I will obey everything you say." Gwen repeated. Ben had a few ideas if he wanted to implement them.
