Hypnotized by a clerk at a store

Yang made her way into Vale early one weekend morning, rubbing the sleep from her eyes as she walked down the street.

"I cannot believe Ruby managed to blow up a cake in our room" she huffed to herself "I also can't believe that I am somehow responsible for getting cleaning crap. Why don't we already have it? Ugh"

She spent the better part of the morning grabbing cleaning supplies from the general store and walking out, bags in hand.

"Alright let's see... carpet cleaner, rags, stain remover, window cleaner..." she muttered to herself as she looked through the bag "And that's it... perfect."

She began walking home, moving through the city... before something caught her eye. A bizarre sign she had never seen before. Down an alleyway was a bright, neon sign with flashing lights. She looked around, before walking towards it, moving down the dark alley.

"Why is this back here..?" she asked herself as she looked up at the sign.

"Thatcher's Tricky Trinkets" was written on the sign, with an image of a man in a top hat holding a stereotypical magical wand in one hand, a pocket watch in the other, and a dove peaking out of his hat.

"A magic shop huh? Ruby owes me for all this... maybe I'll check it out" she shrugged as she entered.

Yang came walking into the room, seeing a wide array of bits and baubles all over the room. Shelves with wands, gems, and watches, large, painted, wooden boxes, a rack of different costumes, a rack of bottles full of liquids of varying colors, and more. She honestly felt overwhelmed.

She walked over to a shelf and picked up an amulet sitting there. It was gold, with a red gem within.

"Hm... what's this?" she asked herself as she looked it over, before her eyes went wide and she practically choked

"T-t-three thousand Lien?!" she stammered.

"Believe me, it's worth every bit!" a voice rang out

She looked back, seeing a man in a suit standing behind her.

"Hello there young lady! My name is Thatcher. I'm the owner of this lovely little shop. And what you have there is a magical amulet!"

"It BETTER be magical for that price!" she exclaimed, throwing it back down onto the shelf "I hope it prints money because otherwise that's a scam!"

"A scam? You wound me, madam. That amulet, when put on, will turn a person invisible!"

Yang raised her eyebrow skeptically, before walking off to another area, standing before a large box that looked like a wooden photo booth.

"TWENTY THOUSAND?!" she basically yelled

"Well yes! This is a costume booth! Step inside and whatever outfit you desire will suddenly appear around you!"

Yang looked back at him with beady eyes

"Are you insane?" she said plainly

"Not at all... though I don't like you insulting me in this way" he replied, losing his jovial tone.

Yang rolled her eyes and walked to a new shelf

"FIFTY. THOUSAND. FOR A POCKET WATCH?!" she boomed "This is just a joke right? I'm being pranked? There's no way."

"Young lady. These watches have hypnotic properties. They are incredibly powerful and--"

"Enough!" she interrupted "You are absolutely nuts. Completely and totally crazy" she replied.

"I am not! And I will not stand here and be insulted!" Thatcher grumbled, picking up one of the watches

"How about this. I will use this watch on you. If it does not work, I will admit you are correct" he huffed "But if it does work, then you'll be hypnotized"

Yang crossed her arms

"Sure. Whatever. I'll happily hear you admit you're insane"

Thatcher's eyes squinted as he held up the watch and swung it before Yang's eyes.

"See? Told you. This stupid watch d...doesn't..." she began, before trailing off. Her eyes locked to the watch, her mouth opening as drool began to run down from her lip. She stood there, limp and loose, staring straight ahead as Thatcher pulled the watch away.

He confidently tucked the watch back into his pocket

"So. How about you apologize for calling me crazy?" he huffed

"I'm sorry I called you crazy" she droned.

Thatcher smirked as he looked her over

"Now for some fun"

What does he do?
