Thoughts of 16-bit video games came to mind, as Eugene thought of his first experience with Sports games. A borrowed console, from an uncle introduced him to 'Hyper Sports', a rather crude joystick waggling/keyboard destroying game.
Judy shot Peter a withering look, it seemed to say, "Even in video games, you're still the same Jock!"
No words passed her lips, as they pressed together into a firm, thin line. She was resigned to going along with the consensus.
"Immersive?" Eugene asked, hoping for an easy agreement. There was no objection, and only limited enthusiasm, but he took that as agreement.
The system surpised them again, seeming to have voice recognition as well as a touch screen. The 'Immersive' option was already selected.
The option selected at the bottom of the screen, 'Start', was flashing lazily between green and black.
"Ready?" Eugene asked once more.
"Start." He said it clearly, as he faced the screen. Just double checking that it did do voice control. With a hint of doubt, he could pretend he was talking to his friends, if nothing happened.

"Round 1 - Swimming..." The words appeared on the screen.
But, that barely caught anyone's attention before they were all pulled towards and then through the screen. Their bodies stretching before squeezing through the too small screen as one merged entry.
Eugene came back to himself, the scent of chlorine thick in the air. Looking to either side, he spotted two women in swimsuits.
"Lindsay... Judy?" he asked their faces and bodies unfamiliar. Eugene faltered, that wasn't his voice. It wasn't even a mans' voice. Looking down she found her own bust. Bending forward, she spotted another woman beyond. She looked as uncomfortable as Eugene felt. Her hands exploring her body as if unfamiliar with anything about it.
"Pete?" she asked.
The woman turned crimson, and turned to look back.
"Eugene?" she answered.
The four women stood mounted their platforms ready to dive in and start the race.
