Thanos had been successful in his goal of snapping half of life away for the good of the universe. This was the big even that had led Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel back to Earth after being away for so long. Carol met the Avengers and joined forces with them to go after Thanos to force him to snap back all those lives he had so callously snapped away. Unfortunately, it was too, Thanos had already destroyed all the Infinity Stones.
It was the first loss that Avengers as a team and Carol herself had ever had. It was a bad blow but as Steve Rodgers aka Captain America reminding them, they all needed to make peace with what happened, and keep moving forward. The team all went their separate ways.
Though Thor had only just met Carol, he took an immediate like to her when when she didn't flinch when he called for Mjnor while standing right in front of her. "If you have no immediate place you need to be, you can come with me to visit New Asguard" he said.
"Sure, thank you" Carol agreed. After spending so many years in space, the blonde figured she would feel more comfortable with other people from the stars even though the Asgardians were really goods.
The two heroes flew to New Asguard where they were welcomed by Valkyrie who Thor had put in charge of the town.
"Valkyrie, I would like you to meet my new friend Carol" Thor said introducing the two women before heading into one of the bars to get a drink.
"It's very nice to meet you Carol. I hear they also call you Captain Marvel" Valkyrie said with a smile. She always liked meeting other warrior women. It didn't hurt that Carol was really pretty too.
"It's nice to meet you as well Valkyrie. I heard about what happened to your home. I am so sorry. How are you adjusting to your new home?" Carol asked. After seeing the home of the Skrulls destroyed by the Kree, she had great sympathy for another race of people losing their home.
"It's definitely a huge change but we are adjust slowly but surely. How about I show you around?" Valkyrie offered with a friendly smile. After showing Carol around the lovely town that had built on the water, Valkyrie said to her, "I hope you will stay with us for a bit" she said.
"It's so beautiful here. I would love to stay here a bit" Carol agreed with a friendly smile.
"It's settled then. How about we get you a room and then have dinner tonight?" Valkyrie suggested.
"Sounds good to me" Carol agreed. "Follow me" Valkyrie said as she led the way to the hotel where guests to Asguard could stay.
