Before you or anyone else can react, the goliath puts a blade in Zills' neck, killing him instantly.

Then all hell breaks loose.

The goliath had brought friends and bought allies to neutralize any companions that Zills had brought with him.

You found yourself fighting back to back with Bozzori. As you each down the foes rushing you, he says almost casually, "I'm thinking Master KIhobo knew what he was doing after all." You laugh in appreciation as you continue swinging your blade.

When all is said and done, you and your new companions defeat the goliath and his band. The victory is not without its cost. None of you came out of the battle unscathed. And besides Zills, Teoz the Leonin cleric also fell in battle.

That wasn't the end of things, though. It seemed Zills was a "new hire," and some of the party was accusing Owag of not properly vetting the Yuan-Ti barbarian. Some were blaming Owag's judgment for Teoz's death.

The accusations and counter accusations started becoming very heated. Berov stepped in and played peacemaker, sending everyone up to their rooms. They would pick up the discussion after everyone had a good night's sleep and a chance to cool down. In the meantime, Berov would make arrangements for Zills and Teoz.

As you head up to your room, Bozzori gives you a gentle (for him) clap on the shoulder and a nod, Glad that the night's chaotic events had one positive effect, you head to your small room and are soon sound asleep.
